The property was like described, small apartment in old quarter Alfama, for some people maybe to many stairs/around 40/, but all Lisbon is hilly with pebble stones, narrow streets and more stairs. When we arrived by train from Porto and also later than previously planned our host Jose was waiting for us in the entrance. He provided us with all information regarding the appartment, local restaurants, transportation etc.
The manager met us promptly to show us in the apartment. It was clean and bright and a great location for Alfama sightseeing. A small grocery is very near as well as a commercial laundry. Lots of little restaurants. A very nice home base for a week!
Quaint, cozy and clean!
It is very quaint and clean! In a nice location with access to Tram 28, Metro and train. Walking distance to many sites and Rossio Square.
Live like the Locals!
My wife and I really enjoyed our 3 night stay at Jose and Margarida's apt.
The apt has everything you may require and is close to trams, grocery stores, etc.
It was a unique experience to sit at the window and watch locals and tourist alike make their way through the narrow cobblestone streets below.
Both our hosts went out of their way to make our trip to Lisbon one of the best stops on our vacation.

Enjoyed our stay at this property located right in Alfalma. Small produce stores, bakeries and restaurants just a few steps away. Has everything you need for all the comforts of home wifi, cable, kitchen items &washing machine++. Train, metro, bus and taxis all walking distance. Fado restaurants, and some of Lisbon's popular sites also close. Our host was very accomadating and checked on us to make sure our stay was comfortable. Highly recommend!
This is a most charming apartment in the Alfama district. Fantastic location, conveniently located near the Santa Apolonia Metro Station. The apartment had everything we needed for our stay. Great for a couple looking for a romantic get-away. It is on the third floor so keep that in mind if you don’t like stairs. The owner, Jose, was very helpful and easy to contact. Highly recommend!
Santa-Apolónia train and metro station: 600meters/1900 feet; Martim Moniz metro station: 800meters/2600 feet; bus 34 (Martim Moniz - Santa-Apolónia), with bus stop at Graça and Igreja de São Vicente.
At walking distance visit the Fado Museum (Museu do Fado), the National Pantheon (Panteão Nacional), Saint George's Castle (Castelo de São Jorge), Lisbon's Head Cathedral (Sé de Lisboa) and Portas do Sol square (Santa Luzia city viewpoint) where one can take the old famous tram 28 (elétrico 28) with its touristic route through picturesque Lisbon. Outside Lisbon, visit Cascais and Sintra, ideal towns for beach, mountain and old villas and palaces. 30 minutes by train from Cais do Sodré and Rossio train stations, respectively.
