We loved staying in this apartment in Florence. It's in a great location and Valerio and Elena were very welcoming and helpful. The apartment was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for our stay. The bed is super comfy and we slept well even with the vendors and restaurants right outside. In fact, we took quite a few afternoon naps with the windows wide open and the sun pouring in! There is so much to see and do within walking distance and it was fun just wandering around the nearby streets. We loved going to the Mercato Centrale just around the corner. The view was great and it was fun watching the busy street below. I would definitely recommend staying here!
This charming property is in the heart of Florence. The windows open to a stunning view of Capella Dei Medici and it's right around the corner from Mercato Centrale. The apartment is compact, comfortable, and well laid out. We would definitely stay there again.
Great place to stay in Florence! Elena was great! Very helpful. She insisted on carrying our two small suitcases up the stairs to our rental...The location is so perfect. Five minute walk to the train station, two minutes to the wonderful Central Market, and no more than 10 minute walk to the Museum's. The rental had everything we needed! Loved sitting and people watching ! Awesome views, too! The only suggestion I could make, would be a full length mirror. There was only the bathroom mirror. All in all, fantastic place!!
Great location! The Medici Chapel is literally outside your window, and it's a 5 minute walk away from the Duomo, and Mercado Centrale. There's also a nice hookah restaurant right outside as well.
The apartment is great for people watching too. The way the light hits the room is amazing!
Elena and Valerio were excellent hosts. We left the keys in the apartment by accident, and they were very responsive in making sure that we could get back in within a half an hour.
We left our food (pizza box and Florentine steak) on the table by accident before we left. Sorry about that! We were in a rush and forgot to take it with us, hope that's okay. Thanks again for everything!
This apartment was awesome! It is a 5 minute walk to the train station. Also a 5 minute or less walk to the Duomo. It is in the middle of everything. A large local market two blocks down the street with a large food court where locals eat as well. There are tons of restaurants around. Some very touristy, but Valerio ( the owner) has an excellent list of restaurants that he frequents with his family so you can avoid the touristy places. Valerio is an excellent host/ owner and has a list of anything you might need very close to the apartment (within 2 blocks). For example, we needed to have laundry done. One block away and picked it up the next day. Super convenient. He also speaks perfect English for us Americans. The apartment itself was great. Very modern and updated. It has a full kitchen and was stocked with coffee. We didn't do any cooking but I made delicious Italian coffee every morning with the provided coffee to get going. This is a two person apartment with a sofa that electronically folds out into a queen tempurpedic bed. It was very comfortable! Pull a chair over and open the windows and enjoy a glass of wine and watch all the other people that wish they were where you are. You will understand what I mean when you are there. Last thing is that I may humbly recommend Ciro and Sons for dinner. It is on Valerio's list and was our favorite restaurant in Florence.
I stayed in this apartment for 2 nights in September. Location was perfect, loved the apartment and the owner was easy to deal with. Even the sofa bed was comfortable and a marvel of Italian design. Be prepared to walk up a few flights of stairs so pack light.
The entire historic centre of Florence is a “zona a traffico limitato” (ZTL) or restricted traffic zone. Special rules govern access to, as well as transit and parking in this zone. Non-residents are prohibited from driving and parking within the ZTL at the following times:
- all through the year on weekdays (Mondays through Fridays): from 7.30 a.m. to 7.30 p.m
- and from June to September also on Thursday, Friday, Saturday night from 11,00 p.m. to 3,00 p.m.
The boundaries of the ZTL are marked by special road signs and have a series of ‘access points’ which are controlled by cameras that automatically detect the number plates of all the vehicles passing through. Transit through some of the ‘access points’ (those reserved exclusively for public transport and emergency vehicles), is prohibited at all times, 24/7.
Tourists in cars who need to travel within the ZTL to reach their accommodation facilities or a garage can obtain a temporary access permit, although they should still pass through the authorized ‘access points’ only (excluding the lanes reserved for public transport and the pedestrian zones which may not be used at any time). In order to obtain this permit, the number plate of the car concerned should be given to the relevant garage which will undertake to forward the same to the appropriate office.
