This beautiful luxury log home has new furnishings throughout. Everything in this home is upgraded from the kitchen to the game room.
Tremendous views of Lake Nantahala and the Smoky Mountains from the two large decks. 30' ceilings on the second floor with wide open views from the family room and the kitchen. Relax by one of the two fireplaces. One wood burning in the living room and gas log fireplace in the master bedroom. One bedroom and one bath on the upper floor and three bedrooms and one bath on the bottom floor. Large TV and gameroom. This real log home is truly a neat place to vacation and just relax.
Our cabin is located about a quarter mile off of Wayah Rd which borders Lake Nantahala . (135 Ridge Top drive, Topton, NC) The roads are all paved to within a quarter mile of the cabin. The drive off Wayah Rd is gravel and has only one turn. This area is quiet, and very private. There are only a couple of cabins above us on the mountain. I have seen kids swimming off the dock. The lake never seems crowded. Usually only a couple of boats in view. Lakes End Cafe/Marina rents boats...it is about a mile from the cabin.
The cabin is about 1 1/2 hours from Asheville and 2 1/2 hours from Atlanta. The beds are all full size with one being a bunk bed with a twin size over top. Total sleeping is for 9.
The boat ramp on the lake is about a quarter mile from the neighborhood. It has a dock and you can swim, ski, fish, etc. The entrance to the boating area is about 100 yards east of our gravel drive. This is at 3,200 feet, so the water is always an emerald green color. The lake also has salmon. (only one on the east coast) I have not fished there yet, but I see bass boats and pontoon boats on the lake. The lake flows into Nantahala Gorge which has a lot of fly fishermen. The Nantahala Outdoor Center is less than a half hour away and you can enjoy rafting in the summer, dining and mountain biking there. The Great Smokey Mountain Railway is less than an hour away in Bryson City. The Lakes End Marina rents boats, call 828-321-3001 Lakes End Marina is about a mile away. Also Jeff at Nantahala Marine rents boats and will actually bring them to the dock and meet you which really makes it east to drive down, park, and take off for boating. 321-828-BOAT
Nantahala is the South's only lake with freshwater Salmon
Kokanee Salmon are the landlocked version of the Pacific Sockeye salmon. Stocked in Nantahala Lake in the early 1960's as forage for the predator population of Walleye, Smallmouth and Largemouth Bass, the salmon have been naturally reproducing ever since. The average Kokanee Salmon across the country is 12" with a few lakes producing larger fish. Nantahala is one of those lakes. The average salmon in Nantahala is 18" with many fish over 20".
We sleep 9 comfortably and the place is turn-key. There are 4 bedrooms. One bedroom has a bunk bed with a double on the bottom, and a single on top. All you need to bring is food.
Please see our website and select the Gallery for more pictures of the cabin, bedrooms, and surrounding area. There is also and Activities link for things to do in the area. (hiking, biking, rafting, etc) It is beautiful, you won’t be disappointed.

This quiet and private getaway has spectacular views of Lake Nantahala. The lodge-like charm of this cabin makes you feel relaxed right away. The views from anywhere in the house are spectacular especially from the hot tub on the lower porch. The Nantahala Gorge is 20 minutes away and some of the best rafting on the east coast. Tsali hosts some of the best and scenic mountain biking as well. Just another 5 miles from the Nantahala Outdoor Center.
Property was very comfortable with everything we needed
We had a great stay at this property. The fishing on Nantahala River was great! We had trouble initially with the gas fireplace because the directions didn't mention the switch on the wall. Also, the driveway is very steep. We arrived after a full day of rain. It was very challenging getting up the hill in those conditions. However, once we made it everything was great!
beautiful cabin with a great view, located close to everything, boating, whitewater rafting, horseback riding
Overall, we enjoyed the cabin very much. The cabin was very clean and we had no problems whatsoever with any of the appliances etc. The view was great from the two decks. Be aware of the relatively steep drive up from the main road. We had no problem navigating the gravel road but we did have a 4 wheel drive vehicle. The Lake Nantahala area is nice and quiet but it fairly remote and access is through some winding roads. I wouldn't mind returning some time in the future for some beautiful fall colors!
This property was rented for a Father's Day family getaway. The secluded location and spectacular view was perfect.
The open floor plan made it easy for everyone to get together but with 4 bedrooms, everyone had their own space as well.
We did not do a lot of cooking, but the kitchen seemed well stocked. The grill and marina is less that 2 miles away.
It took us 25 minutes to get to the Nantahala river for some white water rafting.
If you decide to go rafting, Raging Rivers Rafting Co. is a fantastic outfit.
Skip and Wolf were our river guides and made our family outing one we will remember for years to come.
A word of caution, the road leading to the cabin from the highway was gravel and a little steep. I did not have any trouble, but some small vehicles may.
The only negative things I have to say are that the hot tub was not very clean and had a moldy smell and we could not even get to the fire pit.
If you are looking for a quiet place to relax and enjoy the beauty of the Lake Nantahala area, you could not find a better place.
The cabin was really nice. The only reason I am giving it (4) stars instead of (5) stars is because of the road leading up to the cabin. I had communicated with the owner prior to booking and explained that we were on sport bikes and that one of us would be pulling a bike trailer. The road is steep to say the least and gravel all the way up. The bike needed to be unloaded at the bottom of the drive. The trailer needed to be left at another cabin and the bikes were left half way down the drive. Had I known this, we would have made other arrangements. With that being said, the cabin was great and the owner was responsive and helpful. I would recommend (4) wheel drive.
within 20 minutes of Nanataha Outdoor Center for rafting and Tsali for mountain biking.
