Why BRUNO CLEMENT, CHRISTINE CLEMENT chose 5th Arrondissement
The appartment is part of our house where we've been living for more than 20 years. It's a very typical, medieval little street. It looks like a village in the centre of the town with its tiny gardens and its fantastic views over the city and the Alps when it's clear. The city centre is at a walking distance and we never use our car to go out in town.
What makes this Apartment unique
What is special in this appartment is that it is surrounded by trees and gardens, there's a stunning view over the city and you can walk anywhere in town.

Great place to stay in Old Lyon area
The apartment is very comfortable and the hosts so helpful and eager to share tips. Get your sneakers because you are up for a step workout!! Worth every second of our stay.
Lovely home away from home!
We spent three delightful nights here with our two kids (12 and 15) while exploring Lyon. Christine and Bruno were wonderful hosts, taking time to welcome us upon arrival and explaining some great sightseeing walks. The unit is adorable and was very comfortable for our family. The view from the living room was superb - we could even see the Alps! I spent several happy hours during our visit just looking out the window with a glass of French wine. My kids were delighted by the amount of bird activity and loved seeing the pigeons peeking in through the skylights and flying in and out of the cool old stone wall next door. The location was also great, just a very short walk to amenities, the Saone, Bellacour. This was our first visit to Lyon and we already want to return. We'd stay here again in a heartbeat and hope we have the opportunity to do so sooner rather than later!
Location, location, location!
Great to be right in the heart of historic Lyon! And the view from the large window in the living room is just lovely. The massive heat wave made the apartment (which is directly under the roof) unbearable for about 48 hours... Good news is that the owner, Christine, was great with communication throughout. Once they were able to add /adjust window/skylight shades it got better.
Stairs are not sage

Beautiful La Colline (The Hill)
Montée du Gourguillon is a classic location hewn out of the St. Just and Fourvière hillside. The La Colline apartment is a 5th floor loft with beautiful views of Lyon from several windows. The Saône River and Presqu'île along with beautiful sunrises can be seen with several church steeples and pealing bells. Be mindful that Montée du Gourguillon is a steep, cobblestoned thoroughfare used by pedestrians as a direct route between St. Just (Rue de Farges) and Old Town Lyon at St. George's and St. John the Baptist. Also, be mindful that you must climb many steps up to the loft apartment and the rooms have sloped ceilings typical of a loft. There's a toilet room and a separate bathroom with a tub/shower. The charm of La Colline is its location and its views. Easy access to Notre Dame Fourvière, Roman Theatres, Old Town, Croix-Rousse, and Presqu'île. The La Colline apartment has everything thing you need in the form of conveniences and comfort. Parking is a bit tricky with a cardkey controlled bollard at the foot of the street which is one way uphill with limited parking on a narrow walled hillside. Alternate free parking is on Montée du Télégraphe which is a hilly 10 minute walk away. I recommend La Colline highly, but be prepared to get some exercise walking the hills and steps of Lyon.
Bit of a cardio workout getting there but well worth the effort. Quiet and well laid out apartment.
5 mn driving distance from the highway, 10 mn to Perrache railway station by metro, 30 mn tram (Rhônexpress) to the airport.
Lyon and its outstanding 'cuisine' (bouchons), the Vieux Lyon and its Renaissance buildings, hidden paths (traboules), Museums...and its famous 'Fête des Lumières' on December 8th !
