Home at the beach
This is a great place! Very near to a variety of beaches, and it's like having a home away from home to return to after fun in the sun. It's very welcoming, with great amenities and atmosphere - stereo/speakers for playing music from your phone, fully equipped kitchen, front and back decks, hammock, and hot tub. We loved it!
"Old Florida" Beauty!
I have history in the Jensen Beach area. My parents lived two streets over from this property. Although we live in the North, this is the area we love when we come to Florida. Excellent beaches , and, east of US 1, a quiet "old Florida" vibe. Downtown Jensen Beach is the center of local fishing and a small commercial area that includes good restaurants, and Stuart's charms are close by. This was pineapple farming at the turn of the last century, and Henry Flagler's railroad came through town to support it. It is located at the confluence of the St. Lucie River and the Intercoastal, with a barrier island separating them from the ocean. Plenty of water sports. I consider this area one of the most beautiful in Florida. If you are looking for Miami Beach and nightlife, please go two hours south. Otherwise, this is your bliss.
About the house. It is located in a little area called Rio (Rye-Oh), with lots of neighborhood streets ending at the north bank of the St. Lucie, just east of the Roosevelt bridge connecting Stuart to Jensen Beach. The house is located at a dead end street, and is heavily landscaped so that you have perfect privacy from your neighbors. The neighborhood itself is very quiet, safe and "just plain folks". We had a long term rental. Located on the property is a year-round rental cottage. Renter was unobtrusive, and her dogs were no problem. The yard and house are well-maintained, and include a back patio with hot tub and a large hammock. Front and back porches are wide and long, enabling lots of cool shade for reading and relaxing.
The house is a split bedroom design, with a master and ensuite on one side and a guest room and ensuite on the other. King and double beds. Lots of charm and a little quirky. There is a ramp to the front door. However, there are interior stairs to the master bedroom and bath, and the interior door thresh holds are high. The showers are walk-in. Sofa and chair in living room, four-person dining room table and large kitchen. The kitchen has lots of gadgets, but minus baking pans items and a mixer. There is a large collection of wine glasses and a wine cooler. All appliances and housekeeping were very good. Plenty of linen, and the beds were comfortable.
The train tracks are three streets away and fast trains come through with a short, barely noticeable whistle about three times a day. After the first time, you won't hear it. Smile, it's local history!
Owner easy to work with. You'll love it.
Thank you so much for such a wonderful, in-depth and informative review I will cherish.
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.
Great location to Stuart, shops, restaurants, easy drive to beaches
Quiet neighborhood. I enjoyed exploring the area on my walks. Natalie was available if needed and kept us informed of work to be done in the yard. Ed and I like to read and do math puzzles. We found the lighting to be inadequate for this at night. The bathrooms are very clean and nice. The shower in the master bath is huge. The five-gallon water dispenser was wonderful. Ed is the cook, and he found the kitchen to be well stocked for short-term renters. The unexpected bottle of wine and beer was a very nice touch. Hand and bath soap throughout the house. We found the closet and drawer space to be more than adequate. Our January stay went by too quickly.
If you like peace and quiet, this is the place.
An adorable, comfortable house with lots of character. Loved the quiet, greenery and privacy. Nice deck in front and in back of the house. We enjoyed our breakfast and some dinners on the back deck. Close to beaches. It is not beachfront property.
Loved it! Second time there and hope to return soon.
A unique and comfortable oasis. Natalie does everything possible to be sure you have an enjoyable time. Extremely clean and relaxing atmosphere to unwind in with everything you could want near by.
It was great to have you for a second time. It’s always a delight to have you.
A very clean and nice place to stay.
We enjoyed our stay on the property. The house was clean and had anything we would need or want. The hot tub was a fun treat for my sons and the relaxing front porch was wonderful. The only negative about the place is the loud train that comes through. It is fairly frequent through the night and definitely woke us up on several occasions. We had read this on other reviews and it did not keep us from staying at this residence but for very light sleepers, it may be difficult.
