Disappointing...be very careful.

Our initial impression was that it was nice and clean and in a fairly central location, albeit less spacious than the photographs convey. It is very close to the building across the road, offering a view into your neighbours' house and a neglected rooftop terrace. Needless to say, we kept the curtains drawn throughout the day.

We were disappointed with the wi-fi - awful and made basic tasks like checking emails and online check-in a challenge. The tv came with no English channels. There were also lots of tiny ants all around the kitchen.

However, the BIGGEST word of caution we would give to anyone is to be EXTREMELY VIGILANT - you will be held 100% liable for any damage or faults, regardless of whether such damage was pre-existing or occurred by accident. This happened to us while using the washing machine; upon pressing the 'Start' button, the button sank into the control panel of the machine and stuck there . We noticed that the button was already slightly out of place, but didn't think it as a big problem. When we reported the fault to the owner, she asked her mum (who stays in the apartment above ours) to deal with it. Her mum, who doesn’t speak any English, didn’t appear to be surprised by the problem. She immediately said ‘NO WARRANTY’ (in Spanish, that’s all we could understand), and to our surprise, used a teaspoon to completely jam the button into the machine, took photographs, and left. With no use of the washing machine, we hand-washed all our clothes for the next 3 days. Her mum returned and brought in a repair technician who temporarily fixed the washing machine 3 days later (we had no idea what was going on).

On the day we checked out, the owner suddenly broke it to us that her mum told her that it costed 25 euros for ordering the parts, as well as another 25 euros for the call-out fee of the repair technician. On top of this, she said that she could have charged us extra for her mum’s time. When we tried to say that the button was already faulty, she just said that she didn’t know anything about it other than it was less than a year old and her mum told her to charge us 50 euros. This meant that we lost 50 euros of our deposit and felt utterly helpless about it (we were shown no receipt or proof of purchase whatsoever). Immediately afterwards, we heard from our apartment a big row between their family upstairs - possibly confirming our suspicions that we were set up all along. Overall, we would not recommend staying in this property.

Owner's Response: Sir, feel widely surprised with your comment. Didn’t expect a positive evaluation they way you acted when leaving but never imagine this sort of lies. Normally I’ll let it go, but as I read lies and lies I’ll answer you back point by point: - The apartment is located in the center of the most demanded neighborhood of Las Palmas. In the add we don’t specify or offer beach or mountain views. - Wifi and internet connection is the fastest offered in Spain. We have never had any problems with other guests. Day after you left the apartment was occupied by a businessman and we haven’t got any complaint. - The add doesn’t offer International TV channels. What you don’t state is that you demanded a boiler and we bought you one right along. - EXTREMELY VIGILANT are your words. Sir, the washing machine (one year old) was working perfectly before your arrival. The start button doesn’t stuck with a normal use, probably you weren’t careful enough and press to hard. My mum, did use the teaspoon to try to bring it back to its place, did take photos to show the model to the technician, but never said “No warranty”. You are still lying when you say you washed by hand 3 days. Sir, your daughter showed my mother that with a pen you could press the start button and told her that there was no need to fix it. Nevertheless, we called a technician that came the first working day (take into account that in Spain 31st and 1st of January are holidays, and this year… weekend). The technician verified that you did force the button. - Of course, you were going to be charged with the 50€. If you break something because of a bad use, you must pay for it. Deposits are for this kind of issues. Despite we could keep the whole deposit, we just charge you the fixing costs. You demand proof, the technician was at the apartment. By time you should demanded the receipt, you didn’t. I will be happy to send it you by email if you want to. - “A big row” … Sir 50€ is not going to make me rich. We just charge you the fixing cost. You left the apartment really, really dirty and filthy, and we didn’t charge any extra cleaning costs. What I would recommend is other owners to be aware of this kind of guest, that demand things that are not offered in the add and on top of all doesn’t admit what they did wrong. Attentivly Martha

FANTÁSTICA ESTANCIA

Mi experiencia en el apartamento ha sido fantástica, la situación es inmejorable y el trato de la dueña y su familia es exquisito. El apartamento cuenta con todo tipo de comodidades y todas ellas de alta calidad . Está completamente equipado con todo lo que hace falta para el día a día. En definitiva una estancia inmejorable altamente recomendable .

Sehr schönes und strandnahes Apartment

Wir waren 12 Tage in der Wohnung und es hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Die Wohnung ist sehr hell und geräumig, absolut sauber und schön eingerichtet. Schöne grosse Küche mit allem was man braucht ausgestattet. Das Badezimmer ist sehr gut erhalten und es hat eine Waschmaschine. Das Bett und das Schlafsofa sind beide sehr bequem. Saubere Handtücher und Bettwäsche. Es fehlt an nichts. Es hat auch Internet. Die Wohnung ist sehr zentral aber doch ruhig gelegen. Man ist in einer Minute am kilometerlangen Strand von las Canteras, Bushaltestelle gleich um die Ecke und es hat rundherum zahlreiche Supermärkte, die auch Sonntags offen haben. Am Strand hat es viele Bars und Restaurants und von Las Palmas aus kann man viele Ausflüge bequem und günstig mit dem Bus machen. Marta ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit und ihre Eltern, die im gleichen Haus wohnen, ebenfalls. Nette und ruhige Nachbarschaft. Wir können die Wohnung und die Vermieter wärmstens weiter empfehlen. Die Beschreibung und die Bilder stimmen voll überein.

The best holiday in my Life

I spend a good Time in This house , also Marta she greeted us with a very smiling face , his parents were our neighbors and they were friendly especially his mother . I felt like my family.

the apartment is quiet and near all the common places (bus, supermarket, pharmacy ) in the corner there is a grocery store 24 / 24 .

I will never forget this stay which was wonderful for all the senses

I advise all those who want to visit las palmas not from aillor and rent this apartment.
