The apartment is positioned 20 metres above sea level, and there is always a pleasant breeze that comes from the bay. The house access is via the coastal road with a 70-step ramp or by car over a road that ends with a parking lot located above the apartment. The house has a splendid view over the beach, the bay, the cliff and up to Montecristo Island. In the evening from the 2x6 metre veranda you can admire the sunset reflection on the water and dine by candle light beneath a starry sky. In the clear nights on the horizon you’ll notice the lights of Corsica and during the festivals the location is perfect to watch the fireworks on the beach. The garden has sunbeds and hot water shower.

The municipality of the Giglio Island consists of three areas: Giglio harbour is where the ferries disembark, and is full of restaurants, shops and pleasant activities. Opposite the pharmacy you can find the Tourist Office that gives the vacationers free maps of the island. Boats leave Giglio Harbour on daily trips to the archipelago islands, with breaks to go swimming, listen to music and have lunch on board. Giglio Campese (where we are) has the longest sandy beach of the island, a gelaterie, restaurants and pizzerias, open beaches and six swimming areas, hotels, a residential area, and a dock for dinghies and small boats. On the dock you can rent dinghies without any need of a nautical license. The medium and large boats are anchored in the bay, at a safe distance from the beach. There are numerous scuba diving schools with Italian and German teachers. The pedestrian area is active until late at night. Giglio Castello, a medieval village located on the highest point, in the centre of the island, with walls that were protected by the villagers from the pirate attacks. In its streets you can find shops, trattorias and wine cellars where you can find the Ansonico wine. From Giglio Castello you can reach up to Punta Capelrosso between settings that will remain in your memories for ever. The island is very well connected with two ferry companies at the Santo Stefano harbour (Toremar and Maregiglio). Bus and taxis connect the fractions and the beaches. Large dinghies connect the harbour and the various beaches. Scooters, bicycles and quad bikes can be rented.
Twenty walking trails are well marked and criss-cross the entire island. You will also find picnic tables, lighthouses, rich blackberry brambles, pine forests, and woods with strawberry plants. Going uphill, you’re sure to see a few hares. On the trips, make sure to take cameras and comfortable shoes. The highest elevation is 495 metres. There are no snakes. Delicious ice cream, and "pizza bianca al taglio" seasoned with olive oil, onions and anchovies are among the local delicacies. The local wine is the Ansonico, with an amber colour, dry but fragrant with 12-13% alcohol content. Fresh fish is sold in the morning in all three areas (Porto, Campese e Castello). Moving with the dinghies, you can discover various coves with crystal clear water and sea beds with lots of marine life. There are six scuba diving schools.
