Nice accommodation in shadow of Castelo
Enjoyed our stay. Clean studio with everything we needed. Restaurants and supermarket close by. Tram 28 takes you to centro to catch train to Cascais and Belém. Walk to everything else. It is Lisbon; so wear good footwear! Cobble stone roads and up and down hills ALL the time .......Loved It !
This is a very comfortable apartment in the Alfama and Graca part of old Lisbon, where we stayed for our first 3 nights on our arrival from Canada. Vania and Susana were very helpful and made sure that we had all the needed information. We could walk to every place that we wanted to see and really enjoyed our Tuk Tuk ride, as well as the river boat cruise. The restaurants in the area are wonderful! We felt safe and at home very soon after arrival and we really enjoyed meeting the neighbour's cat (as well as talking to her!). We would certainly recommend this place if you want to explore the old district of Lisbon.
It was well-appointed with everything one would need to enjoy their stay.
We had a great time in Lisbon and considered our apartment safe and well located.
The owners were very considerate and helpful. They were attentive to our needs and available whenever we had a question. They would also be willing to share their knowledge of the city so we could enjoy our stay. We really were treated like family. Loads of local restaurants very close and lots to do and see within walking distance. We would highly recommend them to anyone and give them a 5-star rating.
This studio worked well for us.
We took a taxi both to and from, which is the only way to do it. The metro is quite a walk, there are many hills, and the cobblestone streets can ruin your luggage wheels. Since we were going to be away from home for 3+ months, we had two suitcases each, plus a small backpack each, so too much luggage for 70-year olds to try to deal with any other way.
We did some cooking in the unit and it was pretty well stocked, although no napkins which usually are provided, and which we use. There were only about 4 paper towels on the roll with no back-up roll, so that could have been better stocked.
I loved the look and size of the bathroom, but I was surprised when I jumped into the shower only to discover no soap of any kind, except a few portions of leftover shampoo in a bottle. I've NEVER rented an apartment, or even a room with a private bath for that matter, that didn't provide bath/shower soap. Fortunately I had stuck a small bar of soap in my luggage just in case. My husband couldn't find it, of course, so I had to wrap up in a towel and walk dripping wet out to the other room to find it. That was not a pleasant memory! The pump bottle of "soap" that was on the bathroom sink was not suitable to use in the shower as it was mainly water with a dab of soap in it. Better products need to be provided to renters. That is not "as a courtesy" but as a necessity and the cost of doing business.
We made the hike to the metro everyday, and the metro was easy to use. One day we rode on the famous cable car, and felt that was a real rip off. Whenever it stopped to change drivers we had to get out, reboard, and pay again. After about 3 times doing that, we finally took the metro back.
The castle above the studio apartment was very interesting and worth a visit. You get to it by heading right when you go out the front door of the apartment. Don't head left or you'll have to go up the hill, around, and then back down. You don't go too far when you turn right to go up the hill a bit to the admission gate.
Wear good walking shoes! Enjoy Lisbon!
Bonne position géographique. Propre. Vania extrêmement gentille.
Au mois d’avril, l’appartement a été très humide, en dépit du désumidificateur .

"It’s a cozy, perfectly clean apartment fully complying with description. The location of the apartment is fantastic (within a few minutes you’ll be able to reach the famous tram 28), almost in the very heart of Alfama and near to Baixa (and when it comes to Baixa - a tip for the future visitor: in order to avoid rather steep street going directly to the square M. Moniz you can go left from the apartment and use the elevator situated next to the large terrace with a great view of Lisbon).
The owner is very kind, friendly and helpful person."
If you are arriving at Lisbon airport you can either take a taxi, the airport bus or the subway. If you are driving yourself be aware that there is limited free parking space near the castelo and roads can be narrow and steep, but with luck we can arrange a good and free spot. A taxi from the airport costs between € 8-10 depending on day or night tariff. By bus from the airport - Take the AEROBUS to Av. de Libertade, from there on either a Taxi to Costa do Castelo or find your way to Martim Moniz and take the tram No 12 to the direction Castelo. Get off after 2 stops and walk up to Costa do Castelo. If you have to carry luggage or you are with kids its always recommended to take a taxi. By subway/tram - Take the subway until Rossio station or Martim Moniz, from there on by tram No. 12 or No. 28 way up to Castelo.
This Studio is located at the main floor and it's easier for guests with disabilities.
