Great DC Apartment
This apartment is very comfortable and ideal for a couple visiting Washington DC. It is steps away from the Capital and within walking distance to the National Mall and all the fantastic museums. We loved our stay.
Close to what we wanted to see.
Expectations for use of the property well spelled out. Prompt replies from the property owner for Communication.

This was my second stay at this property. It's the perfect property in the perfect location for a visit to D.C.! We had a wonderful time and would stay here again.
One thing I would say is that the apartment never cooled down much in the evening. Maybe a fan in the bedroom would help. It wasn't bad enough to report it, just a suggestion.
A great place to stay, we loved it
Marina’s apartment is in a fantastic location. It is so much closer to the Capitol and the Mall than it looks on the map, and there are plenty of good places to eat nearby.
Marina met us at the apartment and showed us how everything worked, then gave us some tips for the area. The breakfast places she recommended were excellent. We used one on each day, but liked Pete’s Diner best.
The apartment is spacious, and comfortable. We stayed there for two nights having been in the USA for 5 nights (in NYC) so it was helpful to have use of the washing machine before continuing our travels.
We loved being in the centre of everything, and it really felt as though we were in the hub of things, in a really good way. We ate in the nearby Taco bar the first night and it was buzzing with people in suits, presumably having just finished work nearby. It was great.
If you’re thinking of booking Marina’s place, go ahead. She is so helpful, and the apartment is lovely. And stay for longer. We only had two nights and could have done with longer!
The location was perfect. Just at the end of the block were two restaurants and the metro just a 4 min. walk. We used the metro a lot! (And UBER worked great for us).
The good points: location, up-dated bathroom, comfortable bed, good dishwasher and washing machine. Owner was very responsive to our minor issues. Not so good points:
we needed an orientation to the apt. but fumbled along on our own: sparse kitchen utensils and no baking dishes, fry pans need replacements. Dryer not useful, better to air dry the clothing. The TV description needs updating: it is an antenna system that brings in only maybe 10 channels if you can catch them blipping by, offering retro TV series. No cable national news or sports possible. A cable/satellite connection is highly recommended. The A/C is powerful, but has a confusing program. We wanted heat two mornings and messed it up. The linens were ok, but only one washcloth for two people for ten days? Summary: the apt. was very clean and the location wonderful! We just expected more amenities.
I am sorry to see that our apt did not meet your expectation and I would like to address your points.
I am not sure about the orientation of the apt. - When we are in town we meet our guests and give a tour (after all the flat is 1 BD 1BA only) . Additionally there is folder that gives info on the neighborhood , restaurants, transportation etc. Internet password and of course our contact information. If we are not in town we e-mail a detailed PDF (1 and 1/2 page long) with check in information, with our cell phone numbers and we ask in writing that our guests call us once inside the apt, to confirm that all is OK - If, for any reasons the apt. is lacking something (we rely on a cleaning crew to clean and prep the apt for our guests) we encourage the guests to contact us so that cleaning crew can take care of the problem, not only at check in time but during the stay. As our reviews point it out we respond quickly even if overseas.
We offer to bring clean sheets and additional towles (as described in the manual you found in the apt.) every 3 or 4 days during longer stays. We never enter the apt, (unless there is an emergency) to respect the privacy of our guests. I would have been more than happy to put additional wash cloths and gave the opportunity to the cleaning crew to fix what they simply forgot. The same for the extra cooking pans or baking supplies. We cannot fix what we don't know is missing or broken. This goes for the heating / cooling system. The system a Pepco programmable thermostat displays the temperature arrows (up or down to adjust as guest pleases). Again if you had called us we were ready to help you. Finally the TV - as you called us twice complaining about the TV we actually sent our maintenance person to check the TV on a Sunday afternoon (costing us extra money). We clearily state in our description that we do not offer CABLE nor Satellite TV. We offer basic channels and free Netflix . we personally stream our news so many of our guests.
