This apartment is located in a quiet part of Venice, near Campo Bandiera e Moro in Castello, just behind Riva degli Schiavoni, a few minutes from San Marco square. It is located in the second floor of a traditional sixteenth century Venetian house; it has been the atelier of a painter for many years, due to its particular lighting conditions.
The living room and kitchen face a pleasant garden and are exposed to light and air; this is also due to very large sky windows located on the roof.
The apartment has a closed bedroom with a double bed and a living room which can be isolated with a curtain with a double sofa bed.
The apartment is about 5 minutes walking distance from San Marco square and about 15 minutes from the Biennale Gardens; just a few steps and one reaches the waterfront on the San Marco Basin.
The apartment can be reached by public transport boats n°1 and n°51 from the train station and Piazzale Roma, ?San Zaccaria? stop.
My husband and I stayed at the apartment for several days during our honeymoon. We really loved this apartment. First of all, it is very spacious (which is not common in Europe). There was a decent sized bedroom and a large sized kitchen (with plenty of dishes, pots and pans). There is also a very large living room area with a table that we could sit to eat breakfast at. The apartments location could not have been better; it is about 5 minutes away from Saint Mark's square, but far enough away so you are not in the middle of all the tour groups and people walking around. It was also very easy to find, which we were grateful for, as Venice can be very confusing. All the amenities worked perfectly and the apartment was very clean.
The owner was always very quick to respond to our emails, which we appreciated. He also arranged for some one to meet us at the apartment to drop off our luggage since we arrived prior to the check in time.
Overall we would definitely stay here again and recommend the apartment to anyone wanting to stay in Venice. Thank you so much Umberto for a wonderful stay!
The location, just a couple of blocks from St Marks, and a little less to the boats and gondolas could hardly be better. This is a 1 bedroom apartment at the top of the building, but it almost felt like a 2 bedroom unit, since there is a curtain that can partition the kitchen and sleeping 2, with a separate bedroom for the other guests. Amenities were good, and the property was clean and well maintained.
This was a charming, well-equipped apt in the center of Venice--within walking distance to many sights, vaporetto stop, and indoor and outdoor markets. Host & Sr. Andrea were gracious and informative. The apt is just off a campo, where locals gathered. An altogether enjoyable vacation.
It was perfect! Good apartment, quiet neighbourhood, and close to San Marco! Helpful people! Recommendable
