'Campo alla Casa' is a beautiful stone villa in Tuscany, set in a panoramic position with a wonderful view overlooking the hills of 'Svizzera Pesciatina', surrounded by 10 medieval villages. The house is located in the green hills above the medieval town Pescia, between Lucca and Florence. It's position is perfect for your trips to the most beautiful art cities of Tuscany. You can reach Lucca in 20 km, Florence and Pisa in 50 km, Siena in 90 km and 40 km from the sandy beaches of Versillia (Viareggio, Lido di Camaiore, Forte dei Marmi). Locally there are the famous towns of Montecatini Terme, Montecarlo and Vinci.

At less than 1 km you will find good traditional Tuscan restaurants. The area is wonderful for walking or cycling.

The house has 3 floors and can accomodate up to 10 people. There is a large covered terrace for outdoor meals with view over the pool, garden and medieval villages and another separate covered terrace with comfortable upholstered chairs for relaxing.

The private saline swimming pool (7mt x 14mt) offers all you need for enjoying the Tuscany sun with comfortabel sunbeds, covered pergola and warm water shower. In the garden the kids will enjoy the swimming pool or the ping pong table. The house has been recently renovated maintaining the characteristic traditional Tuscan style, with beautiful ceilings and original wooden chestnut beams, terracotta floors and comfortably furnished with attention to detail.

The house and pool have full privacy and are exclusively used by the holiday renter. There are no other apartments on the property.

5* villa

  • 5 of 5

We spent a lovely week at Villa Campo alla Casa. It is, as the other guests have written a most impressive villa, excellent fittings and facilities and views to die for. The pool, which is massive helped cool us down in the heat of the day but beware there are biting flies in the late afternoon and evening in that area. The gardens, sitting areas and ping pong table all got used regularly. The bedrooms were comfortable and airy so sleeping at night wasn't hot and sticky because there was always a cooling night time breeze. This is the best villa we have ever rented and I would highly recommend it.

An idyllic villa

  • 5 of 5

The villa is in a truly beautiful setting surrounded by flowers and lovely views. The pool was amazing with lots of lovely seating areas particularly well arranged in shade. We really enjoyed the ping pong table too! The villa was very well equipped and my son (who loves cooking) enjoyed the kitchen. The inside comfortable seating was a bit squashed for 6 so if there were more people it might be tricky. The bedrooms were beautiful with lovely views once we worked out how to open the shutters fully. We did, however, have a problem with one of the beds which started to collapse in the night! The fitted mosquito nets were really helpful. The 2nd floor bathroom was lovely but the shower and toilet room in the 3rd floor bedroom is very small. The access to the villa is quite tricky along very narrow, bumpy, dusty tracks and the track up to the villa is very steep and we thought we might not make it in our people carrier. There is, however, an alternative access which is a bit easierb. The surrounding countryside is very wooded and not really suitable for walking so you do need the car to get to the various local eating places. It does take 20 mins to get to Pescia the nearest supermarket and train station but is well placed for visiting Lucca, Pisa and Forence all of which we enjoyed. Overall the villa does have a wonderful atmosphere of luxurious tranquillity and all the church bells just added to this. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to others.

Fantastic villa, the best we have ever rented

  • 5 of 5

We have just spent a fantastic 2 weeks at Campo alla Casa. We have rented many holidays homes, but this has to be by far the best. It is not just the location which is superb, with views across the valley, which are to die for, but also the quality and attention to detail both in the house and around the garden. We were a family of 9 celebrating several birthdays and this was perfect place to do so, with a very will stocked kitchen and all the utilities you need. The pool was perfect for children and adults, with shallow shelf around the deep end that made it very good for building swimming confidence with the young ones. The few remarks people have made about the stairs (and children) have been modified tastefully now making them much safer. The welcome for Valter and Antonella was very hospitable and they came and found us as we arrived near dusk. And finally the Tiramisu that Antonella made for us was divine. Thank you again for great holiday in this special place. Regards the Twort Family

Beautifully restored house

  • 5 of 5

We spent the most perfect week at Campo alla Casa in mid July. It is a beautifully restored house. Every detail has been thought about and the quality is apparent. We were a family of 5 which was a perfect number. The views are stunning & the pool fabulous. The garden is amazing & perfectly maintained. This house is a really good choice as a place to regroup & relax. One of our best moves was to stop at a supermarket on our way to the villa & stock up for a few days, which meant we didn't need to leave the villa if we chose. However,we did walk to some of the nearby mediaeval villages. One of them, Castelvecchio, was a manageable uphill walk even for our 9 year old. We had a drink at the restaurant (we didn't eat there but the food looked good),& then continued into the old village where we found a bar with a small shop which sold us some bread, potatoes & some delicious prosciutto. We visited the town of Pistoia which is a real treat.

We look forward to staying at this house again. Antonella & Valter were so welcoming. The access to the villa is steep & a four wheel drive car would be perfect, but we did manage it in our Chrysler.

A slice of Italian heaven!

  • 5 of 5

I spent several months searching for just the right villa for our Italian getaway. I was so happy to have found this treasure! We loved this place so much. The drive to get to the villa was a bit nerve wracking to say the least, but once you arrive at this slice of paradise you will realize just how special a place this is! The house is so beautiful and everything is so cozy and warm. We have rented many, many houses and have to say that this is one of the best we've ever rented. The kitchen is well stocked and perfect for large groups. The bathrooms are gorgeous. The views from the house are like from a fairy tale. The sound of the church bells! The pool is great as well as the outdoor seating areas. The bedrooms were very comfortable and spacious. The entire family of six felt very at home in this villa. Very private & clean. Well maintained house and property. The hosts Valter & Antonella were very kind and accommodating. I do wish that the wi-fi was more reliable. It was very difficult to connect most of the time. And a word of caution for those of you with small children...the stairs in the home do not have railings...I personally loved the look of this but just in case you have small children this might not be the best situation. Thank you again! We would not hesitate to stay in this magnificent villa in the future!

"We have stayed in many v...

  • 5 of 5

"We have stayed in many villas, mainly in Italy and France, and this is one of the best. Great location, unspoilt and quiet with views across the valley to nearby medieval hilltop villages. Fifteen minutes north of Pescia which has good access to Lucca and Florence.

Lovely big terraced garden planted with masses of lavender, olives etc.

Good outside dining area and separate outside sitting area with comfortable upholstered chairs.

Excellent swimming pool (about 15m) with shower.

Internally has been renovated in traditional manner but with modern facilities and good quality fittings, very well equipped good-sized kitchen, large and luxurious travertine tiled bathroom, comfortable beds in traditional bedrooms.

Ideal for a family (would need to take precautions with small children since open staircases - no banisters).

The villa was very clean when we arrived, and the Franchi family were very welcoming. All in all highly recommended."

Our holiday house in Tuscany is located in the valley of 'La Svizzera Pesciatina' , a hilly area of particular charm, green and richly forested. 'La Svizzera Pesciatina' is located above Pescia, between Lucca and Florence, at a short distance to the famous historical towns of Tuscany but at the same time enclosed into the unspoilt natural landscape.

Scattered throughout 'La Svizzera Pesciatina' are 10 medieval villages: Pietrabuona, Vellano, Medicina, Aramo, Fibbialla, Sorana, San Quirico, Castelvecchio, Stiappa and Pontito. They are made in pietra serena stone which was of great importance during the Middle Ages and are all well preserved . This is a place were time stands still with a peacefull atmosphere.

The villages can be reached by old walking paths or local roads, and the panoramic views are amazing from here. Some villages have their own typical restaurant that welcomes tourists and makes them feel at home.
