Wonderful apartment in a monumental house in the Jordaan, the old centre.
The apartment is in a Monumental House. It is located on the top floor, so the apartment is very bright.
The kitchen is fully equipped (we like to cook), and the apartment has free WIFI, a flat-screen television with cable, cd & dvd-player and a washingmachine & dryer. .
The sleeping area is upstairs and from there you can reach our wonderful and spacious roof terrace from where you can see the famous Westerchurch with its beautiful tower (next to Anne Franks House).
This location is just perfect to visit Amsterdam. The quiet Laurierstraat (where the apartment is situated) is in the Jordaan district, just off the Prinsengracht, part of the 17th century stunning canal belt which has been added to Unesco World Heritage list.
In the Jordaan district there are lots of galleries, fashion boutiques, design shops, great restaurants and cosy bars.
This neighbourhood is also famous for its markets at the Noordermarkt, the Lindengracht and the Westerstraat (on mondays and saturdays).
Almost everything you can visit in Amsterdam is in walking distance from the apartment; the Anne Frank House is around the corner, just like the famous 9 streets shopping area.
The Dam square with the Royal Palace is only a 10 minute walk.
The museumsquare with the Rijksmuseum, van Gogh Museum and Stedelijk Museum is a 15 minute walk.
Leidseplein, one of the major nightlife areas in town is even closer.
If you don't like walking, no problem. From the Westermarkt (one minute from our apartment) you can catch many trams and bussus which will take you to Central Station, the Zoo, the Museumsquare, the flowermarket, the Dam square, or whatever part of the city you would like to vistit. You hardly ever need to transfer.
We are sure you will have a wonderful stay in our apartment.
The apartment is very easy to reach with public transport and by car.
From Schiphol Airport you can reach the apartment in an hour.
Standard checkin after 16:00 o’clock and check-out before 10:00 o’clock, but maybe we can arrange times which suites you the best.

Beautiful home, easy walking distance to museums, shops, restaurants, attractions
This home is in the heart of Amsterdam - we arrived with little knowledge of Amsterdam, but all we had to do was step outside in any direction and we’d find key landmarks/attractions, great restaurants and interesting shops. The home is beautiful and fully equipped - WiFi, kitchen, refrigerator and washer/dryer. The bed is within the cozy, well insulated nook at the top of the stairs - some agility required to get in and out, but worth the effort.
This apartment in Jordaan is in the perfect location in Amsterdam. It is very welcoming and bright. It is very close to the trams and within walking distance to many tourist sights. Extremely close to Anne Frank House and our favourite little cafe, Chez Lorraine. The bedroom in the attic was an interesting adventure. Cozy once you're up there but using the ladder to get up and down may not be for everyone. I think that a bed can be set up on the main floor as well if you ask. It is a third floor apartment with stairs so may not work for everyone if you aren't mobile. We checked out the roof top area but it was too cold to enjoy it during our stay. Access is through a window from the bedroom upstairs so again, not usable for some people if you were not able to do the ladder and crawl through the window to get outside. Our hosts were away when we stayed but arrangements were made for a friend to show me around the apartment and let me in. When we had a challenge with the heat in the apartment Bart was only a phone call away and helped us out with what to do.
Nice apartment, friendly hosts
This was a very nice place. The location was central, clean and nice. When picking up the keys we talked to the owners. They were super friendly and helpful. Our son loved the ladder to the loft. Would stay again.
Charming and comfortable
First of all, if you don't know Amsterdam the Jordaan area is one of the prettiest and most convenient places to stay. You can walk easily to most attractions in the city and the area itself is full of fantastic restaurants and hump-backed bridges over the network of small canals.
This apartment is an ideal spot to stay. Near tram stops and close to the Anne Frank house and the Westerkerk. Large windows face out to a quiet street in a spacious main room that spans the house- there are views to the back too. There's a big farmhouse table to spread maps on. A compact kitchen with everything you need to cook a meal or do laundry and a small but pretty washroom with a good hot shower. The large bed up in the loft is very comfortable with a view out to the roof deck. There's a good grocery store a short distance away. If you have mobility problems this isn't the place for you because it's up a few flights of stairs but we're an older couple and we had absolutely no problem.
And of course there's that rooftop deck- fantastic! We had our coffee up there in the mornings and enjoyed glasses of wine up there in the evening. You can look over the rooftops to the lighted dial of the Westerkerk and watch the birds soaring overhead and just soak up the ambiance of Amsterdam.
Bart and his partner were very welcoming and helpful- they leave you alone to get on with your visit but you can contact them if there's any problems. Thanks, guys!
My boyfriend and I stayed here for a short period of time but loved it all! Great location and beautiful place. It took us a week to finally even decide on a place and this home lived up to everything you see plus some! Beautiful view on the top deck and over all very comfortable settings. Bart is also a great host and very nice!
Excellent location in Joordan area
My husband, son and I spent 5 days in this apt and had an excellent time. The photos are an accurate representation of the apt which is clean and spacious (and I'm a bit of a clean freak!). The rooftop patio was lovely for morning coffee and evening wine before heading out. We didn't cook much beyond coffee and toast in the morning but kitchen certainly well equipped if you chose to. The owner was excellent; prompt and detailed in all correspondence - really friendly and easy to communicate with. The location of the apt was perfect and we walked everywhere, though the tram is just around the corner. The area is amazing, with lots of restaurants, cafes and shops...much preferable to the more "tourist" areas, though they are not too far either. Would not hesitate to come back - thanks for a great stay!
