Our primary focus was on a home where most of the common facilities were on the main ground floor: kitchen, bathroom, living room, at least one bedroom, pool, etc. This was because my elderly mother would be accompanying us, and we wanted her not to have to climb stairs between bedroom and the place where most of the hustle and bustle was going to be. Villa Christina is perfect and probably unique in that respect two bedrooms, one full bath, a huge living room, kitchen, dining room, and extensive outside areas including the pool are all on the street level. Two more bedrooms and two more bathrooms, as well as a bar, a great recreation room with a pool table, and a pretty garden are on the lower level. So, that alone, along with the location, sold us on this rental.
However, we got so much more than that.
The home and grounds are impeccable! Spotlessly clean, beautifully equipped and decorated, yet feeling like home. The owners live in the home for part of the year, so the place feels very welcoming and not in the least sterile or hotel-like. I've rented many villas over the years and you often feel the owners just put in the cheapest stuff they can get away with, and leave it to rot before replacing (e.g., broken appliances, wobbly furniture, etc.). Not Villa Christina. Every single appliance worked, every piece of furniture was solid, every sheet, towel, cup, plate was pristine, etc. We tried to find fault with the place (because it's fun to be critical, but we couldn't.
The location is fantastic. The villa is on a hill, with a vew of the sea on two sides. You can see the island of Spetses on one side, which during sunrise can be magical. Sitting outside in one of the many beautifully furnished lounge chairs and looking out to the sea was wonderful. Speaking of lounge chairs, there are something like 7 different outside seating areas, with great lounge chairs or beautiful patio furniture, cushions, umbrellas for the sun if you need them, tables to put your drink on, etc. Really, you can sit at a different place each day and still not exhaust the choices. We had lots of breakfasts and lunches at the outside dining table and the overhead outside fans kept the place comfortable even in high temperatures. The pool is clean, pleasant, and accessible to both my 75-year-old mother who can barely climb two steps, and my 5-year-old daughter. The pool has a pool fence around it, just in case you’re worried a about your little one slipping. Number of accidents 0
We were 8 people, four couples from Denmark, who stayed at Villa Christina for one week.
Absolutely everything was 100% functioning. High Quality in all Materials. Homeliness from beginning to end. Tastefully arranged in- and outside. Very, very well equipped.
Christina and her husband welcomed us and told us and showed us everything, we needed to know. The Villa was topready to host us. Food in the kitchen and many visits by the housekeepers, who cleaned the house during our stay. This was really extraordinary! It is not possible to mention anything, that was not OK. We can really recommend this Villa and the great views of the Sea.
Thank You for a wonderfull week. Hope to be back again.
We chose this villa because we wanted to explore this part of Greece and as a base to relax with young children. On both counts it suited us perfectly.
The villa is comfortable and meets all needs. Our two families included toddlers enjoyed the pool area which is within sight of the outdoor seating areas and with a fence and non-slip matts was perfect for keeping little ones entertained while we had peace of mind they were safe at all times. They also provided a paddling pool that our baby enjoyed. It is ideal for young families.
Its a great location for visiting the local area and the big draws of Spetses, Hydra and Epidavros are reachable with an hour.
The villa is as good as it looks in the photos. Some things you can't appreciate from the photos. The kitchen has plentiful equipment, pots, pans, plates etc. you could ever need are all there. And the pizza oven and outdoor kitchen/barbeque is fully equipped and well used by us. Plenty of towels are provided. It is a blissfully quiet location.
The welcome and reception we received from Christina was a wonderful start to a very enjoyable holiday. Highly recommend.
Wonderful -- this is the one word with which to characterize our recent stay at Villa Christina in Porto Heli! Two families, from Europe and the U.S., respectively, consisting of four adults and four teenagers, we spent a marvellous time at the beautiful, spacious and well equipped villa. If we have one regret, it is that we did not stay more than just one week at this fantastic place, with its stunning views overlooking the sea, its splendid terraces and gardens, its gorgeous pool and patio, its excellent recreational facilities and its comfortable living and dining areas. Villa Christina is every bit as beautiful and enjoyable as portrayed by the description and the photographs in the listing; if anything, they fail to do justice to the utter charm of the place.
The villa is big enough for 8-10 people to spend time together, but it also has many cozy corners that afford quiet and privacy. It is very well taken care of, and any issue that may arise is attended to immediately. The patios, terraces and other parts of the villa are cleaned every day, and the pool and gardens are looked after on a regular basis. WiFi connection is excellent, and there is private (lockable) off-street parking. Two small beaches are within easy walking distance, and it's a short drive to Porto Heli with its many fine restaurants and shopping opportunities.
Christina and her husband are such delightful and warm hosts! They go out of their way to make their guests feel at home and are very much concerned about their comfort and well-being. The initial meeting in Porto Heli, the prepared meal and well-stocked refrigerator that awaited us on our arrival, the private 2-hour tour provided by Christina the next morning, and her kind (and matter of course) assistance on several occasions throughout the week made us truly feel like valued guests and friends, rather than mere customers.
We would return to Villa Christina in an instant! We are convinced that other people would love it as much as we did, and we would recommend it strongly and without hesitation.
Thank you, Christina, for making it possible for us to have a wonderful vacation!
We had a wonderful 2 weeks at Villa Cristina! The house is huge, elegant, and very well equipped. The teenagers especially enjoyed the billiard table and the table tennis, and the pool was lovely too. The beaches nearby are beautiful and practically deserted when we were there. Cristina is a lovely host who made us feel welcome and was extremely helpful. Highly recommended.
Our welcome on arrival was lovely - Christina and her husband are wonderful, warm characters. It took a little while for us not feel guilty, with the cleaner coming throughout the week, but we soon got used to it and appreciated the wonderful service! It was a delightful place to make lasting family memories. Thank you again for sharing it.
We had the most wonderful holiday thank you, thanks in no small part to the fantastic villa. Christina made us feel very welcome, the food that she had prepared was delicious. It was lovely that the villa was kept so clean for us, outside the villa was great. The pool, BBQ and pizza oven were all well used and enjoyed. We considered refusing to leave! We felt that we could not have asked for anything more. It really is a beautiful area. We made the most of the lovely clear sea for swimming and snorkeling and enjoyed watching the boats pass by. So picturesque, to have all the islands and the headland in view from the villa.
