Fabulous Fabio!

  • 5 of 5

What a privilege to have stayed in Fabio's and Urszula's 300 year old farmhouse, olive garden and vineyard. From the first moment to the last they made us feel welcome and treated us like family. The apartment was clean, spacious and charming. Their home is a labor of love; ten acres of countless fruit trees, gardens, orchards, artifacts, and flowers. Nestled in the quiet commune of San Giusto the farm is perfectly situated to explore the magnificence of Tuscany.

This was our only Home Away experience where the owners were onsite and I found their knowledge and guidance a godsend. Thank you for steering our ship.

Grazie amici!

Very comfortable place to stay with wonderful hosts

  • 5 of 5

I recently traveled to Siena and surrounding area with my sister and daughter and we had a lovely stay at this home away property. The location is beautiful and close to towns you will want to explore during your stay. The farm house is well appointed and spotless. Hosts Ursula and Fabio are a pleasure to meet, and they make sure you find the best routes to visit the surrounding towns and local restaurants. Every was terrific. I would return for sure!

This was an absolutely amazing experience; exactly what we were looking for inTuscany.

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for three nights during our trip to Italy. We are a family of four with adolescent twins. We were hoping to find a more authentic experience in Tuscany, a bit off the beaten tourist path, but well positioned for daily adventures into the many hill towns throughout the beautiful region. Urzsula was away, so Fabio was our host throughout our visit. He is a truly remarkable person, and we immediately felt like family. He guided us to the local market, provided the perfect suggestions for daily tours, places to see, and even connected us with a local farm-to-table restaurant where he is one of the producers. During our stay, we enjoyed wine and olive oil from his farm, salad greens and a classic soup made exclusively with vegetables from the farm. As our visit came to a close, we were truly sad to go, and will stay in touch with Fabio as the years go by. We will never forget our stay here, and will absolutely be back when we return to Italy.

What a fantastic stay

  • 5 of 5

we've just got back to New Zealand from a fabulous 2 day stay in this property which was spotlessly clean, well maintained and had everything we needed for our trip. Fabio provided us with vegetables and fruit from the garden (including a basket of figs after we spotted some on the tree), recommendations of places to visit and restaurant bookings. The beds were comfortable and the showers hot and powerful. The kitchen had everything we needed including a washing machine, iron etc, huge oven (which would be great if you are there for longer).

We didn't use the pool as we had been bitten all over by mosquitos whilst in Florence and we didn't want to risk it in the countryside - however none of us were bitten in the property, nor on our run around the local streets in the morning. Several of the windows had bug screens on so we were able to sleep with our windows open as temperatures outside were still in the 30s during the day. We'd be happy to go in the winter as there is underfloor heating in the bedrooms and bathrooms, and a huge open fireplace on the ground floor.

Tuscany was such an amazing place - the podere san giusto is a perfect base to use to spend the day in Florence, San Gimignano, Sienna, Montepulciano, all within an hours reach. It was unfortunate that we had to leave to drive to Milan as a local monestary was opening its doors for the day. There is so much history and amazing sights nearby but not enough time on this trip.

I'd highly recommend staying here with such lovely hosts.

Beautiful countryside and wonderful people

  • 5 of 5

Fabio and Ursula were wonderful hosts. They helped us out graciously after we arrived very late from Fiumicino without any luggage; someone had broken the window in our friend's rental car while we were eating lunch across the street at a restaurant, and took everything that was in the car. They loaned us some basic clothing and then took us shopping the next morning for underwear. Then Fabio guided us to a wonderful restaurant, La Bottega di Stigliano, that only served locally produced food. He also took us to a nearby medieval village, Torri, that is famous for its cloister. The arches were made from black and white marble, and the loggia looked very dramatic.

Our farmhouse was very comfortable with a new kitchen and two new bathrooms. I wish that we had made more time to just sit outside and enjoy the surroundings. It was very peaceful compared to Rome and Firenze, and even San Gimignano. The surrounding area was all farmland.

Owner's Response: Dear Shermain and Thomas, thank You for the appreciation of our farmhouse. We are glad that inspite of Your misfortune You remind the stay in our place with pleasure. How is You French friend? We thought a lot about her after the tragic events in Nice last month. We wish You a good luck and we hope that You will want to come back to Italy. Fabio and Ursula

This vacation rental was fantastic. Urzula and Fabio were amazing hosts and went out of their way several times to make sure we were comfortable and to show us the area. The rental was very nice, a wonderful stone farm house with modern upgrades for comfort. The pool was pristine. Would definitely return and would recommend to anyone wanting to explore Tuscany.
