About Terry Gardner
We have lived in southern Minnesota, farm country, for most of our married life. We have four children, all grown, with whom we shared our love of the great outdoors on many summer vacations. It seems we gravitated a lot to the north woods to hike, bike, and fish over the years.
Terry Gardner purchased this House in 2014
Why Terry Gardner chose Walker
We bought our lake place on Leech to continue enjoying the great outdoors without roughing it. We like having all the amenities of a year round home. It makes relaxing and having an Up North getaway really easy. Also, we chose this property because it lends itself well to multi-generational groups and is located perfectly to access the best fishing spots on Leech Lake. And, with Walker being such an active vacation spot, their is always lots of things to do when the weather or fishing doesn't cooperate.
What makes this House unique
This property has all the comforts of home with untouched nature just outside the door. The two-acre, heavily-wooded lot lets you have lots of privacy too. It is truly an oak wood retreat, hence the name we gave it,

Labor Day Vacation
I brought my family here for the first time this year for our labor day vacation. The cabin was beautiful and decorated so cute! The kitchen was well stocked for cooking needs. The game room adds a nice little touch for the kids and adults to enjoy. We had a nice bonfire each night down by the lake. It is convenient that the resort right next door has boat and pontoon rentals. We would definitely go again!!
Fantastic family fun
Enjoyed everything about the place. Loved our bedroom with walkout screened in porch...that sandy area for the kids to play was exceptional along with the swing set and lake toys; canoe, paddleboat and kayaks...all in all a very decent week! Plus my 25 inch walleye wasn't too bad either 😊
Luxury on Leech Lake
Look no further than this cabin if you want to rent a home in Northern Minnesota. We loved this house from the moment we walked in the door and felt completely at home. The house is beautifully decorated, spacious and is the most well stocked rental we have stayed at. The views of the lake from inside the house are gorgeous and we loved sleeping with the doors to the screen porch open on the cool nights. The yard is extremely large for a lake home with plenty of space for yard games and the kids to run around. The sand bottom swim area in the lake was fantastic and we loved having the boat lift. And the fish cleaning house will make every fisherman jealous. The owners were great to work with from start to finish. 5 stars is not even enough for how our family felt about our week at this house! One week was definitely too short of time at this cabin!
We are so glad to hear that! We try hard to make our place feel like home to our guests.Thank you !
Paradise in Minnesota!
Our week here was great! They have supplied everything you need for a family at the lake! We were completely amazed at all the perks of this cabin at the lake! All you need to bring is your food and beverages! The cabin even had everything for small kids! Terry was quick to respond to any questions we had! Can’t wait for next year! Excellent place!
Great Family Vacation
The property was beautiful! Just like listed, had a few questions during our stay that was answered very fast! Definitely coming back!
Fantastic for the Fourth of July
Property was better than advertised and the pictures are accurate. Hosts are extremely responsive and helpful. Check in and check out were straight forward and efficient.
Thanks for staying with us. We appreciate renters like you and hope you consider coming again!
Our lake home sits on one of the prime fishing bays of Leech Lake, Trader's Bay. We are conveniently located near many resorts which carry groceries, bait, and gas. They also have boats available to rent.
For those who don't fish, or are looking for other entertainment options, the town of Walker has much to offer. There are lots of fun specialty gift stores, boutiques, coffee shops, and artists malls. They have many good restaurant choices for budget minded people to those looking for fine dining. Most of the area towns have a full schedule of activities throughout the summer.
