Quaint, Beautiful, Easy - Loved Our Stay
This property is exactly what we were looking for. Easy to get to, close to Telluride (about an hour), have the place to ourselves, and allow pets. The check-in process was incredibly easy and I swear they have thought of every little detail to make your stay more comfortable. Right in downtown Ouray, a parking spot right next to the front door. It had everything we needed. Nova and Steve were great. Thanks for letting us stay! Definitely will be back.
Ouray is a popular yet unique destination for world travelers. Visitors have been coming to this intimate mountain/river valley community since the early 1900s. It is nestled in some of the Rockies most rugged and regal peaks at the narrow head of a spectacular river valley at 7,792 feet elevation and surrounded by 10,000-14,000 foot peaks - Ouray is home to hundreds of miles of Jeep roads, hiking trails, and other spectacular sights, including sulfur-free hot springs with stunning views and the world-famous Ouray Ice Park. Watch rugged ice climbers struggle as they climb a narrow ice gorge of frozen waterfalls - or try it yourself. Free lessons provided by experienced ice-park guides. Visit the Alchemist Museum to learn the unknown history of the late 1800s, hike to cascading waterfalls, such as Cascade Falls or Box Canyon Falls. Ouray has it all.
As a historic mining town settled in the 1800s, two-thirds of Ouray's original Victorian structures, are still occupied, and have been carefully restored to preserve their turn-of-the-century designs. The Ouray Main Street Inn is one of these such buildings.
Ouray is home to nature, sports, jeeping, hiking, ice climbing, and arts enthusiasts. The restaurants are excellent, the Chocolate Factory is divine, and the different festivals and events hosting in Ouray keep visitors returning.
