At Villa Fabbroni you can select your preferred level of tranquillity on a daily basis. Enjoy leisurely activities such as reclining in the garden or by the pool with a glass of wine and a book, more energetic pursuits like exploring the surrounding woodlands with their tantalising promise of wildlife sightings, take excursions to legendary Chianti hill towns, colourful markets and restaurants, and of course discover the wealth of art that defines Florence and Tuscany.
Villa Fabbroni has remote origins dating back to ancient Rome. During the Middle Ages the estate, known as Panzalla Castle, came into the possession of the Buondelmonti family, and the house was transformed into one of their many family castles. In the first half of the 1800s the Fabbroni family renovated the villa in flamboyant nineteenth century style and made it their hunting lodge. King Vittorio Emanuele II was a frequent guest at the villa during the period when Florence was the capital of Italy. The land surrounding the castle was rich with game and fruitful vineyards, producing a wine very similar to Bordeaux.
Padronale is the principal apartment in the villa. It is composed of a large living area with a fireplace, 5 bedrooms (3 of which have private bathrooms), a dining room, a kitchen (equipped with oven, microwave, and dishwasher), and 4 bathrooms with shower. The aesthetics of this apartment include original terracotta tile floors, wood coffered ceilings, and antique furnishings. Fattoria (see 'available rentals' tab above), is the second very spacious apartment, which is slightly smaller than Padronale but equally charming and well-equipped.
Villa Fabbroni also contains a small number of more compact apartments. The Villa's hosts live on site and provide guests with support, along with additional services on request, such as breakfasts or evening meals. While the swimming pool, common areas and restaurant are shared amenities, the Villa Fabbroni estate offers plenty of private spaces and activity options so guests can choose to either socialise or remain secluded, according to their preference.
