The home was cute but was located between a very active and large high school and an Alzheimer's hospital. Not the quietest location but a lovely home.
Delightful position, friendly and helpful landlady
Just two of us on holiday and the size and position of the house was lovely. We loved the ducks and the slowly turning wheels. The town is beautiful but also central to other wonderful places to visit. Christine was very kind and helpful.
Character with great location
The owner was very organised when met us at the beginning of our stay. The house has everything supplied with plenty of towels, linens and everything a traveller would need to live there very comfortably. We just had a great feel from the house as soon as we walked in and the owner was so lovely and very keen for us to like her house and enjoy our stay. She had some local treats for our family when we arrived and had maps and brochures on hand and gave us some ideas on where to visit. It was a great location and very easy to walk into the village centre - especially our regular visits to the gelati shop on the main square opposite the church, the great little cafe that was part of the florist (just near office de tourisme) and the most helpful office de tourisme in all of France. Parking was never really a problem but as we are used to always having a park at our house, we would sometimes feel a little stressed as we got close wondering if we would find a park nearby. We were lucky on the days we arrived and left that we got one very close as by that stage we had many suitcases. The highlight for our daughters was being on the balcony seeing the ducks each day. It is such a beautiful place to visit. Definitely recommend. Thanks for a great stay.
The house was beautifully clean, and the owner's son was full of information about the best places to visit. The fully-equipped - and air-conditioned - kitchen meant we didn't have to eat out every night, although there are enough restaurants to visit a different every time if you want! Don't miss the market on Sundays and Thursdays for fresh fruit and veg. We were able to visit Arles, Avignon and Les Baux very easily.
Would we go back again? It's already booked!
Charming villa on the river
Charming character villa built over the river, the location is perfect for walking to the town and particularly the weekly markets. It is also convenient for visiting the other sights in Provence. The villa is completely equipped with all you need in the kitchen and with air conditioning for the hot weather. We enjoyed sitting out on the balcony with the river running underneath. Although next to the road the excellent double glazing kept out the noise, and we never had any trouble parking. We loved the markets, the local restaurants and of course the local boulangerie selling freshly-made croissants, patisseries and baguettes
Great place to enjoy L'Isle sur la Sorgue
The owner is very gracious and helpful; she was very welcoming and offered plenty of information on events and services in the area. The house itself was spotless; it is very comfortable and is supplied with everything one might need, including washer and internet (the only negative is the narrow spiral stairwell that leads to the bedrooms, so it wouldn't be suitable for someone with restricted mobility). The house has AC for hotter weather periods. The location near the centre of L'Isle is ideal for easy access to shops, restaurants, etc. Plenty of free parking close to the house, though there is some competition for spaces during certain periods. L'Isle sur la Sorgue is a lovely town with all the services one would need, and there is an abundance of antique shops, a brocante and a fabulous market for food and other goods. The terrasse/porch on the Sorgue river is very pleasant, but there is a busy street and a high school (lycee)across the canal/river, which means that privacy is not always ideal- as the house is all by itself, you're likely to get a lot of curious onlookers (this is why I rated the surroundings as 4 rather than 5; perhaps a sort of privacy screen could be added). I would certainly use the house again.
