Saint-Hilaire-la-Treille House Rental Photos and Description

Situated in the Limousin area of France, this fully restored property, parts of which date back to 1696, stands in peaceful countryside, with a private lake and around 2 acres of land bordered by the river Brame.

The stone built timber framed property,which can be rented as either a 3,4 or 5 bed holiday home, features oak beams together with traditional Limousin staircases.

The property has been sympathetically renovated to give the following accommodation, and can be rented as either a 3,4 or 5 bedroom property ( prices quoted are in all instances for THREE BEDROOM LET) 4 & 5 bed let prices on request!

On the ground floor there is a lounge/diner (seating 10), a fully fitted kitchen and a small lounge with DVD & Video players.

On the first floor (3 bed let) there are 2 twin bedrooms,a double bedroom (with shower) and a bathroom with bath,shower,toilet & basin.

The second floor (5 bed let) comprises 2 further bedrooms both with en suite shower-rooms.( not included in 3 bed let but can be rented for a supplement of £200 each).

Outside there is a Kiwi vine covered terrace, leading into well kept gardens and playing field,( A full badminton pitch is available from June to September & an all weather table tennis table is at the guests disposal).

There is a small fishing lake of approximately 1/2 acre with some good size carp.

There is also a covered 9 metre swimming pool, which can be fully opened in good weather.

There are numerous paths around and through the woodland which borders the property, with walks for the whole family.

Overall the property is the perfect location for the totally relaxing holiday.

Why George Lambert chose Bellac

Having looked for a holiday property in France for a number of years, we stumbled upon Moulin Treillard by accident. We fell in love at first sight, and when the opportunity to retire early came we grabbed it with both hands, this was in 2002.Since then as a labour of love we have renovated the 300 year old mill to be our main residence. we then renovated the house as a gite, adding a further two en-suite bedrooms, at present we are converting one of the barns into a two bed cottage which we hope to be completed in 2017.

What makes this house unique

The property is situated in a wooded river valley, totally secluded from the outside world, nearest neighbour 400 metres away.

There are numerous walks through the woods and lanes, there are a number of swimming lakes nearby, with tree climbing courses & adventure trails.

In summer we provide a full badminton pitch, table tennis,swimming, football in the field, and of course the French national game of petanque (boules)

The property itself is our ' little piece of paradise' which we share with all things natural, to date we have not had one person not be astonished by its secluded situation & outlook. We believe that it is impossible to spend more than a couple of days here and not be 'chilled out' It really is 'Total Relaxation',but don't believe us! come and see for yourselves?.

Holiday paradise

What a gem of a find, beautiful large accomodation and gardens set in amazing surroundings.

The pool is spot on and as it was very hot during our stay it was perfect for cooling down.

The owners are delightful and most helpful, also a change of linen half way through our stay was a nice touch and v welcome.

10/10 Highly recommended

Tranquility

What a fantastic property to rent. A beautiful setting to watch the buzzards, kingfishers and herons flying. The stream running past the property has many fish and crayfish to catch. Lizards scurry around the place making you believe you could be further south. The surrounding area is fabulous. We enjoyed walks around the woodland, watching the horses and deer scampering about.

The house is well maintained and well stocked - everything you need is provided and if their is something else you need the owners are very accommodating. A bonus of our stay was when Christine provided clean bedding and towels (we were so used to have the same ones on for the duration of our stay it was much appreciated during the hot weather we were lucky to have).

George and Christine are wonderful. They offer advice about the area and places to visit. They are on hand when needed. They were brilliant with the children and generous with the occasional treats.

The pool was fantastic. Lovely to cool off in and kept well maintained and cleaned regularly by Christine and George.

Local attractions to visit include the haunting Oradour-sur-Glane, the zoo at part ray out, the city of crocodiles (have a go at feeding one), the Isle of serpents, the lake at pardeau, the capital Limoges are all in easy reach along with many medieval cities to see. The abandoned village at Montrol-Senard is beautiful. For those wishing to travel further afield the Puy du Dome volcano range can be reached in a few hours.

We would recommend this to anyone wanting a holiday away from it all, want to spend quality time with the family watching fabulous wildlife. We will return here, when we've been to other regions of France yet to be discovered.

het is het allemaal net niet.

Wat een tegenvaller is dit huis, de plaatjes en omschrijving geven een mooi beeld maar kan niet tippen aan de werkelijkheid.

Bijen in de slaapkamer, sporen in de wc, spinnenwebben echt overal terug te vinden als je het raam opendoet moet je je een weg door de spinnenwebben banen, muizenkeutels op het keukenblad en de bank. Riool lucht in een andere slaapkamer, denk je 2 bedden naast elkaar te schuiven sta je in een berg stof, slaapkamers zonder gordijnen.

een tv kamer waar de stank niet te harden is. Wel een geweldig nieuw tv systeem. VHS is weer helemaal in.

Dan maar afkoeling zoeken in ons privé zwembad. Oh dat is jammer, geopend van 10.00 tot 18.00 uur. Het zwembad licht direct aan het terras van de verhuurder. Hierdoor voel je je helemaal op je gemak als je wilt gaan zwemmen, gelukkig hebben ze ook visite, die vinden het ook leuk als je gaat zwemmen.

Dit huis is het duidelijk niet, na 1 dag zijn we opgelucht dat we hier weg mogen. Om deze teleurstelling weg te nemen willen we nog een last minute boeken. Oh ja, dat lukt ook al niet. De beloofde wifi heeft geen ontvangst en van de verhuurder mochten we het toch al beperkt gebruiken. Ook dit stond natuurlijk niet in de omschrijving.

Klacht neergelegd bij verhuurder en Homeaway maar ja, die kunnen hier natuurlijk niets aan doen.

Mocht je toch geld en vakantiedagen willen weggooien dan is dit huis een echte aanrader, succes verzekerd.

Owner's Response: You cannot please "all the people all the time" in 10 years of renting the gite this is the first time we have encountered someone like this? Since his departure we have had a group of 12 (6 adults +6 children) a family of 4 and at the moment a family of 6! all of which have thoroughly enjoyed the property and its surroundings, whilst at the moment there are no further reviews posted we do have written messages of thanks from all of these people!!1 (copies of which are available on request) Needless to say most sensible people when coming to the countryside would expect to encounter the odd insect and also the occasional countryside smell, it is after all part of life!!!
