Absolutely wonderful!

  • 5 of 5

We spent two weeks at Elena's cottage in Cossogno and had the most wonderful time there. The cottage itself is spotless and very comfortable. The grounds are beautiful -- Elena clearly spends a lot of time taking care of the gardens and her vegetable patch. The patio has a beautiful view of the mountains and we took almost all our meals outside. Elena was very helpful and gave us many tips on the walks we could do. We hiked, swam, relaxed -- it was the perfect combination of sport and leisure. Cossogno itself is a quiet, sweet village nestled in the mountains. The stone houses, narrow meandering cobblestone streets, the beautiful churches, the stream that San Bernadino stream that flows past it, the Roman bridge -- the place became like home to us so quickly. We were also lucky enough to be there for a cultural/gastronomic festival that was organised by the village. It was definitely one of the highlights of the trip. And our puppy was a big hit with the locals, and she enjoyed being there so much that she didn't want to leave. Thank you, Elena. We will definitely be back next year! Marc, Vidya & Nika

Very well equiped house in the small quiet village. House has all needed for comfort stay. Kitchen is on the first floor, bedroom and a bathroom are on the second. Cossogno is very beautiful place, full of history and very authentic. The views are actually even better than what you can see on the photo. As for the hiking: there are some hiking itineraries, that starts right from Cossogno, for the others it is recommended to have a car to reach them. Parking is on the main square of the village and there were no problem to find a place there. In every town\village of the region there are such free parkings, a lot of them a placed right in the starting points of the itineraries. There are a lot of information about Val Grande in the house, including itineraries map (there are realy a lot of itineraries, with different difficulty level). This map was very usefull for us. We were very glad to meet Elena, she was very helpfull and attentive.

We could never imagine such charm as we experienced in this super modern, comfortable and accommodating cottage. The views were a bonus, as was the location and its proximity to so many places - Lake Maggiore, the nature reserve a few feet away, and all the majestic towns and villages close by that the Alps offer. This village offers everything ! Elena was most generous with her vegetable garden, and offered super ideas about exploring the area. Agra, her trusted dog, was nice to have around, friendly and welcoming, just like her owner. Chef Lucca's restaurant in the village was superb! A very relaxing and enjoyable stay.

Natürlich, ursprünglich, ganz wunderbar!

  • 5 of 5
