About the property

House with 3 bedrooms, with large balconies with bay views and private patio

Our holiday home was built in 2010 and has all modern facilities including fully fitted kitchen with dishwasher, washing machine and microwave oven. Two of the bedrooms have ensuites. There is a central ipod system so you can listen to your music whichever room you are in! The private patio area has a built in barbeque and patio table and chairs. In the garage there is table tennis and a darts board for the guests use. Parking is always available directly outside the house and the condominium is accessed through a secure locked gate for everyone's safety. The shared swimming pool is directly opposite our house and is a great sun trap, it is also never busy. Our holiday home is located on the fringe of a protected natural forest on the hillside above the traditional fishing hamlet of Salir do Porto. The villa has beautiful views of the shell shaped bay of Sao Martinho do Porto in the heart of the Silver Coast. A short walk to Salir do Porto's a safe family beach, small supermarket, restaurants and bars. From Salir's beach you can walk over the boardwalk to Sao Martinho do Porto where there are many more shops, restaurants etc. There is also a train station at Sao Martinho and you can catch a bus to Lisbon if you would like a day out.

We are a family of six. We live in Bristol in the UK and have always enjoyed holidays together as a family. So when we were fortunate enough to buy our own holiday home we knew how important it was to equip it to make it comfortable for a family.

Why Elaine Dart chose Caldas de Rainha

We bought our holiday home on a wim! Every year when we went on holiday we dreamt of owning our own holiday retreat, a haven away from the bustle where we could escape. So when we were staying nearby one year we decided to put a deposit down on a sand dune and the rest is history! Over the last few years we have come to love the area with the beautiful beaches and walks all within an easy distance. We also have our favourite restaurants which we look forward to visiting every time we go to Portugal. The restaurant prices are so reasonable and the Portugese people so friendly and helpful. Our children love going to the nearby Lagoon and have had watersports lessons in the past. There is also a large shopping centre at nearby Caldas da Rainha to keep us girls happy!

What makes this house unique

What makes our holiday home unique is that it is tucked away in a quiet, private road away from the bustle of the town but near enough to get to all the activities we like to do on holiday. Of course there is the amazing view which we can see from our balcony as well!

Fantastic villa, lovely heated pool, great view of the bay,

Can not fault the villa or the position lovely and quite yet within walking distance of the main resort of Sao Martinho do Porto. Everything you could want was in the villa ,local restaurants great food and very reasonable. Will be coming back soon!

Enjoyable Visit

Our second visit to this splendid holiday apartment. Facilities were first class with the pool to ourselves on most days. All amenities with a new patio to enjoy beer, wine and a bbq. Nearby beach is excellent and the steak cooked on the stone in the local restaurant was a highlight. Did a trip to Porto which was well worth a visit.

Very nice villa in a quite area with lovely views.

Really enjoyed our stay in the villa. It is well equipped and very clean on arrival. Very good directions provided by a very helpful owner. Thank you Elaine. The pool was great and had wonderful views over the Martinho bay and surrounding area. We've stayed in the area before and really enjoy it. Really good walks along the boardwalk into Martinho, with its great beach, cafes and restaurants. Good base for exploring the surrounding areas. A visit to Budha Eden is a must.

Probably the best equiped house we have stayed in

Great house everything you could want for a pleasant holiday. The accommodation was spotless and very comfortable, fantastic pool, and lovely location walking along the boardwalk to San Martinho was lovely. The local restaurants are friendly and great value. Will defiantly be going back!

Car: recommended

From Lisbon Airport take the take A8 Oeste motorway. Follow signs towards A8 Leiria/Loures. Journey takes approx 1 hour 10 mins. More detailed directions on request. 2.5 hour drive from Porto Airport

Salir do Porto has beach, cafes, cash point, restaurants and shops all within a 5 minute walk. Sao Martinho do Porto is the nearest small town and has beach, restaurants, shops, supermarket, banks and café bars. Foz do Arelho has a beautiful lagoon, watersports, restaurants, bars and is 6 miles away. Caldas da Rainha is the nearest big town and offers daily markets, large supermarkets, spa, banking, new shopping mall, old town, park with boating lake and tennis. The historic walled town of Obidos is well worth a visit with its narrow streets and many restaurants.
