This was our second visit to this lovely property and we enjoyed it just as much as previously. The house is very well equipped and accommodated 2 families with ease. The big garden was great for kids and adults alike. We enjoyed canoeing down the river and trips to surrounding towns and attractions. Thank you to our hosts once again for a very relaxing and enjoyable holiday.
We have just returned from a week here with our 5 young adult children. The house was very well equipped, clean, tidy and the right mix of modern and old styling. With 7 of us there space was not an issue and the 3 bath/ shower rooms were a real boon.
This property is in the heart of the country side set in a farming community. Great for walks, cycling and generally relaxing. The village has a traditional French cafe attached to a small shop. You can order bread or croissant the day before so that you can collect it and have it lovely and fresh for breakfast. Drinking Kir Royale in the café one evening (as were the locals ) was a great experience. I'm sure you will enjoy participating at least once in this traditional part of French village life.
Our hosts were wonderful. Madame and Monsieur Parent are charming and friendly without being at all intrusive. Their lovely dog, a a golden retriever named Vel was a joy to watch as he fetched from the river. Cloyes sur Loir is close by ( less than 10 minutes by car) and is really pretty.
The pool (which is shared with the owners) is great and the kids loved it.
An idyllic place to stay for peace and quiet and absolutely no pollution - air, noise or light. The only noise was from the children in our party when they were enjoying themselves in the garden, in the pool or on the river in the canoe which came with the rental.
Madam & Monsieur Parent were helpful whenever we needed them and even let us pick apples from their tree which we made into a delicious tarte tatin.
We would recommend this for families including those with anyone with mobility problems as the ground floor has 2 bedrooms and a wet room/bathroom.
There was plenty of room in this home for 2 families of 4, with beds left over! The house is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The outdoor eating area is lovely and the large garden and pool were well used. Use of a canoe, goal and volleyball nets and other toys kept the kids (big and small) occupied. The surrounding countryside is quiet and peaceful but it is not far to lots of interesting places. The owners are very friendly, helpful and keen to practice their English!
We stayed at this house in summer 2012. It is a very spacious house - we are a family of 7 and there was plenty of room for us. The house is well equipped with everything you could need. It is next to the river Yerre which was really scenic and peaceful. It is also very shallow and thus safe for children. The owners live nearby and were lovely people. They were very hospitable, charming and helpful. They offered suggestions of places to visit, lent us maps, and even brought us fresh plums from their tree!
Altogether I can happily recommend staying at this property. Thank you France and Henry, for an enjoyable stay.
The house is very spacious and also well equipped. Set in a lovely small village and next to the river with all its wildlife. Children and adults alike enjoyed the pool. I Would highly recommend Le gîte du Martin pécheur.
Had a most enjoyable stay, merci beaucoup Henry et France.
