Typical farmhouse of the beginning of '800 immersed in 14 hectares of olive trees and wood. Quiet position with astonishing view on the Arno valley. Good position to have a mixed holiday of trips to the art cities of Florence, Siena and Arezzo and countryside delights of small ancient villages, wine roads and nice restaurants and food shops, open theatre shows, natural parks and handcrafts. Small swimming pool allows kids plays safely, and allows adults to be refreshed.

Beautifull property, with a nice view on Tuscany country side, not far from train station
We had a 2 weeks stay in family (9 persons) in this nice property. We had the entire house for us, 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms on 2 floors, it was really confortable. The garden is very big, with Olive trees, a swimming pool (arround 7m by 3m, enough to swim just a little bit), and a big terrace with a table for up to 12 people. The house has a traditional decoration, is well maintained, clean, towels and house linen were provided.
The owner (Leonardo) is friendly, he speaks english fluently, so we had no difficulty to communicate. Leonardo came for us with his car when we arrived (we did not find the adress easily), and gave us all the details about the house, and surrounding activities.
Leonardo was available by phone or SMS during our stay to help us when we needed.
The property is located in the Tuscany campaing, which is beautifull : from various rooms in the house and from the garden you have a beautifull point of view on the campaing. It's located along a beautifull road crossing the Tuscany country side, 1 min from a nice looking small village (Cavriglia), and 10 min from the first medium sized city (Valdarno) where you have supermarkets, and a direct access to the Highway, and a train station.
You can easily go by train to Firenze (30 min), Pisa (1h30), Roma (2h).
Along this beautifull road you also have some properties producing and selling wine and Olive oil, they propose free tours, I can recommend "Semboloni Farm" which organized for us a very pleasant tour, and sell very good wine.
The only inconvenience we had during our stay was related to very high temperatures in this period (32 to 34 degrees with no rain), a lot of insects (especially mosquitoes), but this is not related to the property. We solved this by using various repellents for insects (there are some already available in the house).
We really enjoyed our stay in this property and I would recommend it, both for the traditional charm of the house and garden, the beautifull landscapes in this region, and the proximity to the main point of interest for tourists in Italiy.
"Big nice house in a beau...
"Big nice house in a beautiful setting.Swimmingpool and a piano! Beds and furniture are oke.Owners very friendly."
Cordiali Saluti a Leonardo.

store (Coop). There is a famous rose garden (Fineschi) with more than 7000 different species of roses.
The area includes the typical wineries of Classic Chianti and olive oil DOC producers. There are two natural parks at Castelnuovo and Cavriglia. This last has several animal species (zoo) in their habitat.
Close to Rietine there are the village of Montegonzi with its narrow streets and the Abbazia of Coltibuono, an ancient monastery founded at the beginning of millennium by Benedictines monks. Running few miles towards Siena you will meet Gaiole in Chianti, with its famous red wine brand. Few miles away there is the village of Greve in Chianti. All this area is famous for the wine, for the cooking, and there are several Castles: some of them are opened to the public.
Trips from Rietine include:
to Siena by car; to Florence by rail (leave your car at Montevarchi rail station 8km close from Rietine, and forget the nighmare of parking in Florence, the rail will bring you to the hearth of Florence in 30 minutes); to Arezzo (by rail) and to Cortona (by car).
Close to Rietine there are outlet villages of Gucci, Ferragamo, etc. where you can buy at the best price!
Rietine is really a base for relax, space for families or groups, visits to ancient cities and villages. At Rietine you can balance the relax of good food, contact with the nature, silence, and the astonish beauty of art, churches and museums in the cradle of Italian Reminiscence
