Exceptional hosts and beautiful accommodation. Italy’s best.

  • 5 of 5

Guiliana and Fabio are people whom anyone would be proud to call lifelong friends. We booked months in advance and asked for tourist tips. We received detailed itineraries, maps etc. by email. We had planned to drive to Pisa and Siena from the accommodation but we had our wallet stolen on the Metro in Athens so we had no license or MasterCard. Guiliana and Fabio helped us to re-plan our itinerary when we arrived. They printed tour tickets for us and they even had bus tickets for us to use to go to the Uffizi Gallery on our first day.

The spacious and wonderfully comfortable accommodation had everything ... a welcoming bottle of good local wine, beer, juice, fresh bread, eggs, pasta, sauces, coffee, jam, tuna, fruit, bread etc. etc. etc. It was all very fresh and was totally unexpected. We had enough for our three-day stay. (All we bought was gelato in Florence and San Gimignano!!). The bed is very comfortable and so is the lounge. The kitchen is fully equipped. The apartment is beautifully decorated. The towels are soft and everything is spotlessly clean. And the view …. is nothing short of magnificent.

Our computer crashed on our second day and Fabio helped us for over an hour to fix the problem. He allowed us to use his computer in the interim. Guiliana helped with the washing machine etc.

We invited Guiliana and Fabio for drinks on our last day but they said, “we are in Italy so we go to them” (upstairs). With our limited Italian and their quite good English, we enjoyed their company for a few hours. We sampled beautiful Italian wine, salamis and cheese but the best part was talking to very intelligent and incredibly generous people.

‘Thank you a thousand times’ would never suffice.

Beautiful view and super helpful hosts

  • 5 of 5

The views of Florence are spectacular and it's really convenient to get there via bus, especially when Giulianna had the whole bus schedule printed out :) We didn't get a chance to meet Fabio, but Giulianna was a delight. Her english was good enough to convey all the info we needed, and there was a whole binder full of useful information. She stocked the kitchen somewhat before our arrival which was unnecessary but oh so sweet and allowed us to actually have eggs for breakfast (don't get that in Italy often)!!!! We loved our stay here. Thanks Giulianna :)

Beautiful setting on very noisy street

  • 3 of 5

Owner was very nice.had stocked the home nicely with lots of basics and fruit. The setting is beautiful with great views. Bus into center in only 15 min. However if you are a light sleeper, the street is noisy all night long. And there is no cross ventilation so it can get warm.

Owner's Response: The road, if you are a light sleeper, may be a little noisy, even if it’s down below and 40-50 meters far from the house and the window of the bedroom has double glazings. The drawback, on the other hand, is the other side of the coin of the three convenient bus stops near the house and, in the opinion of the most of guests, is fully made up for the amazing view of the countryside and the Florence skyline, the private garden surrounded by vegetation which encourages them to rest in the open air and even have their meals there, the possibility to park the car safely inside the property, the strategic location from which tourists can easily reach Siena, Pisa, Pistoia, the mountains and the seaside. As for the ventilation, this area is generally more windy than the city. It can get really warm in summer, but more in Florence than in the hills, where we are.

Beautiful views, relaxing atmosphere, kind hosts

  • 5 of 5

A wonderful place to stay with an incredible view over Florence, in the hills but the city centre is easily accessible by bus. Excellent value for money. The hosts were incredibly kind. They provided us with everything we would need for our evening meal when we arrived (including a Colomba di Pasqua--an easter cake), and even things for breakfast. The hosts were very attentive to our needs but also left us alone. This would be ideal for a couple, or even two couples. I wish we could have stayed longer!

We stayed with two young children. If you have children, this may not be the best place for you. The garden has a fence with rails that a child could fall through; and the best way to get to the bus stop is up a steep flight of stairs at the back of the property--it was fine for us and we managed to get our stroller up and the two children, but it wasn't easy. Also, when you get off the bus to return home, you have to race across a busy street with cars driving very fast. It's doable with kids and we were fine but some would find it stressful.

Overall, a wonderful experience. Thank you Giuliana and Fabio!

"The apartment is very comfortable and the view from the terrace is superb. Convenient bus access to the historic center made our days easy to plan.

The owners were exceptionally helpful, directing us to the best markets and assisting with some critical business communications back home."
