Chateau de La Chauviniere in the Loire Valley is a 16th century property set amidst 200 acres of park and gardens. It overlooks its valley with a lake. A park with centuries old trees, shaded walking paths, Rose gardens, luxuriant lawns, beautiful shrubs and flowers, glasshouse, farm, big swimming pool (14x6m) make a sumptuous holiday stay for one or two weeks. The animals (dogs, cat, sheep, horses, poultry, parrot, peacocks) add to the lively atmosphere and gentlemanly lifestyle of the French countryside. Bicycles, ping pong, badminton, croquet, library, video and numerous books, CDs and DVDs, puzzles will entertain when there is time left after visiting castles and vineyards.
Besides cleaning the house (15 hours weekly included) the housekeeper's wife will be glad to prepare some meals when needed.
The cottage of La Chauviniere is a one bedroom 17th century old house, with beamed ceiling, chimney and tile floors. It is decorated in ancient style but has all modern comfort. It is convenient for a couple or a couple with 2 children (2 beds in the living-room). Completely equipped kitchen, DVD equipment in the living room, complete bathroom.
Born and bred in Paris, with engineering degrees from Grenoble and Berkeley, I now leave in the Loire VALLEY to enjoy the mild climate and the country life.
