It is ideally located, 200 m from the market of rue Moufetard. Not far from the Pantheon, La Sorbone, the Jardin des Plantes... It is carefully decorated completely renovated, very bright with view of a large avenue but very well sound proofed. Large choice of restaurant in the area. Subway, taxi station, many buses, and Velib 100 m away.

Great apartment in a great neighborhood

Charming apartment in a secure building. Great restaurants and shops all around. Nearby metro stop gives access to the entire city. Would stay again.

Bare Bones

If all you care about is location and not paying too much for a Paris apartment, this can work. The photos make it look nicer than it is. The reality is that it's old and in need of upkeep, very noisy from traffic when you open the windows (which you must do because of the heat), has a barely functioning kitchen, and two of the three beds being about six inches from the floor. There is no such thing as being quiet inside due to metal cabinets clanging and worn out wood floors creaking with every step. This place is for the self sufficient who like the adventure of figuring everything out for yourself since the landlady offers no direct help. Instead she sends a very sweet Italian woman to let you in who cannot answer most questions for English speakers. Best aspect by far is the location.

Owner's Response: Regarding all our other comments , It is the first time that we receive such negative one. The dissatisfaction of this costumers seems particularly out of scale with the reality of our offer. The apartment is on Avenue des Gobelins and the traffic is evidently typical of a big city ; for that reason all are windows are sounproof but I guess with the 3 days of heat wave we had 10 days ago in Paris, they opened the window on the street of one the 2 bedrooms. It is important to mention that the other bedroom is on the other side of the building so it is completely quiet without any noise. About the floor which is craking, it is again the first time that we receive this kind comment. Again It is an Hausmanian building typical of the beginning of the 20th century in Paris. There is a parquet in all the floor of the apartment and we put nice and antik carpets in every rooms... About the furnishing, we just bought a new sofa in the living room and builded a new wardorbe in one of the bedroom ect... In conclusion, we think that those costumers were particularly exaggerating and taht their comments are not unfounded. However, they had probably they reasons to be so unhappy and we respect that . But we also wonder if this great dissatisfaction it not also due to other reasons than just our apartment ?

I will start with the good things...

I needed an early check in and the owner sent Carmen at 8:00 AM which was very nice and made my travels far less complicated. Carmen was also on call and very attentive to some issues we had with the heat. As for the apartment, it could use some upkeep. The toilet chamber has old plastic tiles and peeling paint. The shower room is tiny with peeling paint. The closet shown in the bedroom with the twin beds is not there anymore. it is replaced by metal, heavy doored and very noisy cabinets hung very high on a wall that you had to stand on a chair to reach. The kitchen was adequate. The room with the fireplace shown is tiny. The noise was awful. There is a neighbor upstairs ( and I know the owner can't control this but they should not list the apartment as soundproofed). A guitar was played late into the night, every night. There was a party on a Wednesday night with music and noise that lasted until after 3:00 AM. The finale was all of the guests coming down the stairs making even more noise. In spite of the fact that Carmen was very nice, and it was not super expensive, I cannot say that I enjoyed my stay in this apartment.

Wonderful apartment

We were very happy with the apartment. It is at a great location, close to the Metro and several good restaurants, supermarkets close by too. Quiet building and friendly neighborhood. A lot of space for the three of us, but would have accommodated easily two more people. Checking in and out was easy, too.

Great flat in fantastic location

We had a lovely time in this flat. We were a family of 4(2 children of 5 and 7). It was perfectly spacious for us, the beds were very comfortable, the kitchen well equipped and the shower great. Carmen met us and was very friendly and helpful. We loved staying in a flat rather than a hotel and going behind one of the big doors on the street! The location was fantastic for us - great cafes and bakeries all around, very convenient for the metro or you can walk into the main centre if you fancy (our 5 year old managed!). We would definitely stay in the flat if it was available the next time we come to Paris. Thank you very much!
