The furnished apartment is light and spacious (about 100m2). It occupies the 3rd and 4th floors in a historic building in the centre of Vicenza and was completely refurnished in May 2010.
The little bathroom has a shower, toilet, sink; the kitchen has a microwave, a fridge, a cooker and is fully-equipped with plates and glasses for 6 people; the living room and bedrooms are newly furnished with large wardrobes in the bedroom.
The double bedroom has a spectacular view of the Basilica Palladiana and Piazza delle Erbe in the balconies overlooking outside.
The kitchen, living room and little bathroom are on the same floor as the double bedroom and look out over Monte Berico, but they are separated by a landing. Upstairs the kitchen there is a new bedroom (two singles bed or a double bed) with the terrace
We provide sheets, towels and table-cloths.
Animals are not allowed.
There isn't much to add to the other reviews, except to confirm that everything in the description of the flat is accurate. All credit to the owner for being so honest: yes, the main bedroom is across the landing, and yes, it can be a little noisy at night, but it remains a wonderful place to live for a while (any seasoned traveller has earplugs in their kit anyway!).
The rest is faultless: the flat looks fantastic, modern and traditional at the same time. The mezzanine/upper floor with the view to the hills is a brilliant idea, and the terrace at the back is an oasis of quiet. Everything is comfortable, from good beds to solid furniture, impeccably clean, and all in perfect working order.
The bathroom is a bit on the small side, but manages to be convenient and without any problems like lack of hot water or anything.
And then there's the location: you couldn't find better. Barely 15 minutes walk from the train station, all museums and shops and restaurants around you, and the added treat of opening your shutters in the morning to see the basilica, just for you.
Anna (and Claudia!) are wonderful hostesses, warm and helpful like true Italians can be.
We have stayed in several apartments arranged through Homelidays, and this stay in Vicenza has been a highlight. The location is fabulous right in the town square, and the whole experience was better than what we had hoped. It was great to meet Anna on arrival, and we enjoyed all the recommendations she made, including the visits to Teatro Olympico and the drive to Bassano del Grappa.
The owner was very helpful in picking us up from the station and providing useful information about the apartment and the town. The apartment was very well situated in the heart of Vicenza within easy walking distance of all parts of the old town. It provided all necessary amenities and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
The appartement is well equipped and very nice and cosy. Piazza delle erbe is as close as you get to the centre of Vicenza. Shops with good fresh food, cafees and restaurants close by. Have a look at the beautiful architecture and museums during the Day, and enjoy live Music at the bar Borsa in the evening.
"From the first opening of the window shutters onto the Piazza del Erbe and Pallardio,s Basilica opposite, meeting the charming owner Anna, and seeing this modern, fresh apartment we knew that our 4week stay here would be all delight, and it was...right in the centre of this very special city with fabulous architecture, shopping, bars and restaurants means some noise, but the double glazed windows and shutters closed almost all out,and after midnight all is silent.Kitchen facilities were excellent, and the recently constructed second bedroom upstairs with its sunny balcony facing south towards the countryside adds a further dimension .We really loved this gem."
"We (five friends from Hamburg, Germany) spent one week in Vicenza and were warmly welcomed by Anna!
After long days in Vicenza and surrounding it felt like coming home to the appartment in the evening. It is located in the heart of the Palladio City and from the balkony you have a perfect view on the Basilica. The appartment and its owner, Anna and Family, are probably one of the best choices for families or small groups coming to this city!"
