About Mr. Davide Ferrari
I am the manager of “GMG Holidays”, a small family business operating with its self-catering properties near the town of Pistoia, a few dozen minutes away from other important art cities like Florence, Lucca and Pisa as well as from the beaches of Versilia. What we aim at offer you is the chance to spend a relaxing holiday in the nature of a green valley set between the town of Pistoia and the Tuscan Apennine Mountains. This is a well known and loved winter holiday destination, famous for the ski slopes of Abetone, but also an enchanting holiday spot between spring and autumn, thanks to its pretty paths and silent ancient forests. Our properties are charming historic buildings which have been recently renovated and fully equipped to meet the needs of increasingly demanding tourists. In fact, my father and I are both passionate travellers and this helps us to empathize with the potential demands of our guests. We are truly committed to your satisfaction and looking forward to welcoming you to one of our properties! We will do our best to make you feel at home!
Mr. Davide Ferrari purchased this House in 2010

Superb location, excellent accommodation, delightful, helpful & thoughtful managers
We were concerned that we would be too hot in August but the climate in the mountains was perfect. As well as days by the pool & building rafts on the stream right behind the accommodation; we had day trips to towns, cities & the beach. Walks in the forest were enjoyed by everyone, you can walk through the forest to the local town with an excellent butchers, café & mini market as well as a bakers & pizzeria. Evenings were cooler which meant that sleeping was not a problem.
There were 4 rooms/suites on the first floor, each very well equipped and self-contained with kitchens/kitchenettes & bathrooms. The beds were very comfortable and with all bedding & towels included it was very convenient. We stayed for 2 weeks & mid-stay our rooms were cleaned with all towels & linen changed. The 4 rooms have been rented out individually in the past (hotel style) so the only thing missing is an indoor communal area, the listing doesn’t state that there is one so it was our mistake to assume there would be a living room we could all congregate in. However, for the available accommodation the price was more than reasonable & reflective of the lack of additional living area (had this been included I expect the price would have been a lot more) so no complaints! We mainly used the room with the largest kitchen to eat & congregate in, it was a bit of a squeeze for our party to get round the table (there were 11 of us). However, the outdoor space is lovely with plenty of room, tables, chairs & loungers we had an extra 7 family members visit us one afternoon for a BBQ & it was perfect. There is also a washing machine which was an added bonus.
Davide and his father were the loveliest hosts, they met us at the property despite our late flight, they even thoughtfully had a bag of food for breakfast in their car for us in case we hadn’t managed to get anything (which we hadn’t !). They gave us lots of information, maps & leaflets about the local area and made it easy for us to contact them during our stay. Two of our children were supposed to be sharing a sofa bed but kept annoying each other so we made up a separate bed for the smallest one on a lilo. On the day our bedding was changed (without being asked) they found a put up bed which they made up instead which was much appreciated. At the end of our stay no one was taking the accommodation that day so they were happy for us to check out late which was very convenient.
Absolutely perfect !
We really appreciated our stay at the locanda. After visiting numerous Tuscany historical sites (all of them easily reachable from there) by hot summer days, we were happy to return every evening to the fresh air of the Appennines enjoying the swimming pool and relaxing on a green lawn with beautiful mountain scenery in the background. The property is very clean and decorated with a lot of taste. The owners are charming and give you any necessary information to make your stay really enjoyable. Pistoia with some nice old villages around was interesting to visit as well. We were also glad to discover a number of good restaurants near the property and in the Pistoia area.
The locanda is certainly the place to come back to when visiting Tuscany next time.
Thanks a lot for sharing your experience at Locanda Le Panche and for your kind words! It was a pleasure meeting you and your family!

The Inn is located in the Tuscan Apennines area, 17 km North of Pistoia in a lush valley where the Reno River runs parallel to the State Road 66, which connects Florence (40 min. drive) to the tourist destinations of our area, among which the winter resort of Abetone stands out.
Because of its position, this may be an ideal base for tourists interested in visiting the art cities of Tuscany as well as for nature lovers, aiming to discover the Apennines, in every season.
Visitors to this area can enjoy the very well preserved environment and breath-taking landscapes. This is a perfect destination for beautiful walks and it is full of trekking routes to enjoy on foot, on horseback or by mountain bike, it is rich of small lakes and rivers for canoeing and fishing and it offers many opportunities for practicing all kinds of outdoor sports.
In winter Pistoia Apennines are famous for ski resorts such as Abetone and Cutigliano. Moreover, all year round, the Mountains of Tuscany offer to their guests dozens of cultural and recreational events, such as music and folklore festivals, gastronomic fairs and medieval reenactments.
