We have just returned from a fantastic family holiday in the Manor House, with a peaceful location and great swimming pool, its certainly 5* level.
Parts of the building date back to the 15thC, and have been updated throughout to UK 5* bathroom levels.
The location is very peaceful, a couple of miles from the nearest bakery or bar, with large supermarkets around 5 miles. Madam de Goulaine was great, and English speaking, which does help.
Le Mans is a short and easy drive of around 12 mins, a medievil city with a great combination of old and new - everything you need . . . . . and don't forget about the 24hr Race Track!
We would also recommend Le Fleche Zoo, about 30 mins drive.
We hope to return again.
Thank you so much for your appreciation; we are happy you liked the house, and hope to see you again, when it will be safe again !
A fantastic place to stay
While the pictures give you a feel for the place, they don't show how much effort the owner has put in to make you feel comfortable as a guest. Everything is thoughtfully laid out and little things like having travel adaptor plugs available makes your stay perfect. I couldn't recommend it more.
Beautiful property for a relaxing family holiday
We had a two week stay here at the end of July and beginning of August. Our party was made up of family with ages ranging from 4 months to 90 years old and we were all extremely comfortable.
In the first week of our stay the weather was a bit mixed, but we kept busy with some lovely bike rides, (we hired bikes locally for a few days, but I actually feel it would have been nice to have them for the whole time as there were some very pretty villages within easy reach with lovely bakeries for croissants in the morning and bars for evening drinks) swimming in the heated pool and playing table tennis and table football.
The bedrooms were all great each with their own lovely bathroom (really super showers and a couple with very nice baths) and the beds were very comfortable, which can't always be said of rental properties and we've stayed in quite a few. I would just say here that the ground floor bedroom was a must for the oldest member of our family and even that had a couple of steps into it and a couple from it into the bathroom, but they were manageable in her case. Also, a couple of the other bedrooms are only reached via the spiral tower stairs reaching them would be a bit of a challenge to some, but the two other bedrooms can be reached from more conventional stairs.
In the second week we had some lovely sunny days and really enjoyed using the pool and sitting outside in the other areas in the garden and also having some meals at the table outside.
We really enjoyed our stay here and would love to return one day.
Wonderful characterful property.
The Marsh and Smith families had a wonderful week at St Fraimbault. The owners were very helpful and provided everything we needed. What a gorgeous house! Plenty of room for the 9 of us and loads of space for the kids to enjoy. The gardens are spectacular too. The kids enjoyed the pool. Plenty of crockery and cutlery for use. Both indoor and outdoor eating areas. Just perfect!
The local villages are lovely, nice restaurants too. Not far from Le Mans. Good location.
Would thoroughly recommend.
