Overview

About the property

Calm & relaxation - Culture & discovery - Gastronomy & sports - Prehistory Lascaux

The cottage "Les Acacias" is located in the heart of Black Perigord, 10 km from Les Eyzies the world capital of prehistory and at the gates of the Vézère valley and LASCAUX and SARLAT ...

This charming house was created in the former family farm. Renovated in 2016 and classified in 2017 "Furnished tourism 3 *", it can accommodate 4 people (+ 2 people in the living room sofa). We have kept the charm of the stones and exposed beams combined with a neat and current decoration. In summer you will enjoy the coolness of the living room thanks to the thick stone walls. In winter, you can warm up near the wood burning stove while watching the flames.

Very well exposed, the south-facing terrace and garden shaded by two old acacias overlooking a valley of greenery will invite you to relax. Only the sound of birds or cicadas can disturb the nap. You can cook on the barbecue.

Lovers of calm and nature will also enjoy beautiful walks in the forest less than 50m, and can be pick some porcini mushrooms or visit the truffle plantation and who knows how to attend the truffle picking with the dog of the father of the owner "JUST ".

No pollution, no noise ...

The building includes several independent rentals.

Leaving the cottage and within a radius of 10km, you can visit the main sites that are famous in our beautiful region:

LES EYZIES: National museum and international prehistoric pole - Grand-Roc (concretion caves) - Font de Gaume (ornate cave) Sportsmen can canoe on our rivers, hikes or paragliding (Au Moustier) - Many castles (Commarque) or fortified villages (Madeleine).

THE BUGUE: Aquarium - Gouffre de Proumeyssac - Village of Bournat (reconstitution of a village of the beginning of the century) or Jacquou Park (attractions, rides, swimming pool, toboggan)

Many small authentic villages are also nearby: Rouffignac (Grotte des 100 Mammoths), Limeuil (swimming in the river), Tursac, Tamnies (lake) ...

A little further: MONTIGNAC 18km Cave of LASCAUX - SARLAT 30km: rich in heritage, big market of local products (foie gras, wine, nuts) - BERGERAC 35km: famous for its vineyards and good wines - PERIGUEUX 35km: Museum of Périgord, Roman ruins and museum, St-Front cathedral, numerous pedestrian streets and rich heritage.

A house full of character with a lovely garden set in a beautiful location

  • 5 of 5

The property had been very well renovated, retaining its character whilst being modernised. It was very clean, spacious and had all the facilities one could require. The garden surrounding the house was pretty and well tended and suitably enclosed to allow our dog to roam without worry but there was easy access to more garden/fields adjacent. The location was excellent with many tracks through the woods and fields right on the doorstep which gave an air of freedom. Although we only met Nadege on our arrival day, she had been very helpful prior to our visit and her mother who lives close by and oversees the property was also most welcoming and friendly and a pleasure to deal with. Unfortunately we did not have the best of weather during our stay but it did not spoil our impression of the Dordogne region largely thanks to the lovely house and friendly people we met.

A property to be highly recommended

  • 5 of 5

Just returned home following a wonderful stay of 10 weeks at this lovely gite.Nadege & her husband are a lovely couple as are Nadege's parents who live in the house just behind the property. The gite is located on the crest of a valley & enjoys unimpeded views to the other side from a glorious terrace & garden.Le Bugue, the nearest town for shopping, is just a 15 min. drive away & is well served by 3 supermarkets , restaurants, banks etc. The gite is within easy reach of all the major tourist attractions in this beautiful part of the Dordogne & for walkers there is a tremendous network of circular routes which are well sign posted - a map is available from tourist offices.

Overall everything about the area & the gite made this a very memorable holiday for us & our dog & without any hesitation we highly recommend it.

Séjour très agréable

  • 5 of 5

  • 5 of 5

  • 5 of 5

Hervorragende, voll ausgestattete Unterkunft in erholsamer Ruhe

  • 5 of 5
