Located on the outskirts of the charming little hilltop village of Droushia (also called Drouseia) this 2 bedroom villa enjoys magnificent views across the entire Chrysochous Bay. Set in a private cul-de-sac, only a 10min walk from local tavernas and a 10min drive to the beach, it offers the chance to experience traditional Cypriot village life in a little discovered part of Cyprus. Facilities include master double bedroom and second twin bedroom both with ensuite bathrooms/WC and access to a large balcony. Both rooms have ceiling fans, hairdryers & optional air conditioning/heating. Downstairs there is an optional double sofa bed with separate WC/shower room. Large fully fitted & equipped kitchen with dining area. Separate lounge and additional dining area with satellite TV (some English channels)/DVD/CD/iPod docking. Ceiling fans & optional air con/heating. Fireplace. Terrace, patio and gardens; 8x4m pool (Roman steps), pool shower, brick BBQ. Sunbeds, umbrellas and garden furniture.

Villa Droushia: Villa Droushia is a new villa situated on a large plot of 1000sqm the villa has been individually designed to offer flexible and comfortable accommodation. With 2 bedrooms upstairs (both ensuite) it is ideal for up to 4 guests yet with a double sofabed downstairs with access to a 3rd wc/shower room on the ground floor it can comfortably sleep up to 6. Set at the end of a private cul-de-sac of seven villas Villa Droushia offers comfort and privacy yet is only a 10 minute walk to the centre of Droushia for that low key evening entertainment. The villa also enjoys what can only be described as spectacular views across the entire western end of Cyprus' north coast from Pomos to the Akamas Peninsular. The villa has its own private 8x4m swimming pool and inside is tastefully furnished to a high standard with plenty of thoughtful homely touches including a collection of 30 DVD's. The villa offers a relaxed, quiet haven in a little discovered part of Cyprus.

Walking and the Akamas Peninsular: Along with the Troodos Mountains, The Akamas Peninsular is the best walking region in Cyprus. Whilst becoming more popular with walkers the area is still little known and therefore retains its unspoilt charm well away from the main tourist areas. It offers the walker the chance to explore a countryside of hills, gorges, valleys and coastline together with a diverse flora and fauna. It is generally considered best “walking weather” between March and early June and then September into early November. In the spring months it is particularly pretty with an abundance of wild flowers and the smell of almond blossom. These times of year are also less popular than the summer and should therefore offer the chance to walk in peaceful surroundings with the only human encounters likely to be local goat herders or the occasional fellow walker who has also discovered this tranquil haven. Villa Droseros is ideally placed as a base to explore the region with some walks taking in Droushia itself.

About Mr Tim Clark

After visiting a number of Greek Islands I finally ended up in Cyprus in 2001. I was staying in Paphos but took a boat excursion to Latchi and Polis and fell in love with this part of the Island and the really friendly locals. Most restaurant owners are still there with seafood amazingly good value and this place is now my retreat a few times a year. A real home from home and I never tire of my visits here.

Mr Tim Clark purchased this villa in 2005

Why Mr Tim Clark chose Poli Crysochous

This is still a relatively undiscovered part of Cyprus with small friendly villages and this villa has the most amazing views in a truly tranquil and peaceful setting.

What makes this villa unique

Ideal family villa where you can easily supervise younger children but for couples or groups of friends a great place to relax and as I do enjoy my compulsory 30 lengths a day in the pool (not often at once!). And then in the evening sit on the balcony and watch as the lights along the coast begin to twinkle as you listen to the crickets then as it gets dark look up see the Milky Way, satellites passing over occasionally and if you're really lucky a shooting star or two will pass over you!

Clean and quiet

  • 4 of 5

Located in a remote part of the island, far from the crowd of tourists, ideal for a relaxed and quiet vacation. Be aware of the dog barking all night from the neighbor. Pool nice and cleaned twice a week. Electrical system surprising (need to switch off the light of the bedroom to get a light in the bathroom !!!). All equipment that you'll need for your vacation. No traffic. Owner friendly and provided clear information to reach the place. We recommend it.

Paphos International Airport
Car: necessary

The charming little hilltop village of Droushia (also called Drouseia) with its narrow winding streets and traditional stone houses is 27km from Paphos and 10km inland from Polis and Latchi. Paphos International Airport is a 45 minute drive away. Set 635 metres above sea level the word 'Droushia' (from which the villa also takes its name) means 'cool and fresh' in Greek, a reference to the light breeze that blows up from the Akamas Peninsular and offers a pleasant climate particularly in the hotter months. The village which only has a population of just over 400 and where life has gone on unchanged for generations is full of character and offers the visitor the opportunity to experience true Cypriot village hospitality. It also has a handful of very good traditional taverna's and a small supermarket. Alternatively you can drive the 10-15 minutes or so to the small fishing village of Latchi with it's picturesque harbour and fine seafood restaurants or the 'Blue Flag' beach at Polis.
