Very private very clean
Very private. You drive up a small road by a pond and loop around to the cabin at the end of the road. We really enjoyed the pool table. The linens were very high quality. Kitchen very well stocked. The knives were even sharp! We loved the deer-themed cutlery too! Hope to be back!
Perfect Mountain Retreat
We loved this place. We are extensive travelers and use VRBO and other similar services frequently. This place is special. Beautifully and tastefully decorated, secluded location but close enough to everything, close to River Mills Recreation area which is a gem for walking, fishing and swimming and enough room for a family of six.
We intend to go back.
The VERY Best Mountain Cabin!
I hate to share with all of you what a perfect place this is because I might have trouble booking it in the future. Tip top clean inside and out; charming quality and comfortable decor and not filled to the brim with trinkets; wonderful AC during the very hot days; beautiful fireplaces and wood which must be good for the winter and fall months; comfortable beds; small and cozy space (not super bright, but it's a cabin in the woods!)but with a big extra room and pool table downstairs; great wifi; perfect porch and porch furniture (so clean! and a great place to read and listen to the bull frogs). The kitchen is so well organized: again, no extra junk there, just exactly what you need. One of my favorite things is that the driveway itself is a perfect walk in the woods for a person my age! So many mountain homes don't have anyplace to walk near the house...this driveway/walkway takes you through a beautiful glen, past some ponds, near the deer. The owners were the best communicators: I feel like I have some new friends. The grocery and urgent care are close by and next time we will check out the Mills River Recreation Center down the way. Asheville and Hendersonville are very accessible. What more can I say? My old dog could easily access the house since there aren't a lot of stairs...I think she wishes we lived there.
Fourth of July Weekend
My family stayed here for a long weekend over July 4th and the cabin is absolutely beautiful and very roomy! Plenty of room for us and we enjoyed every minute of our mountain get away. The back deck provides a nice retreat from the sun and relaxing rocking chairs. The cabin is very private! There's also a pond for fishing and places to explore around the cabin, Oh and lots of deer. We had a fantastic time and will definitely be back! I highly recommend this cabin!
Red Den Cabin
The cabin was cleaned comfortable and had a very warm welcoming atmosphere. Great place to escape the city and enjoy some quiet R&R.
We stayed over Christmas break at this great little cabin. We were welcomed kindly and loved the area. There are reviews of the driveway up. Yes, it’s the last cabin on the road. It can look like it’s scary or a bad road but just go slow. Especially at night. You will enjoy the wildlife if you take time to enjoy the drive up to the cabin. Yes, the neighbors have a dog, but it really is a sweet one and they are friendly people. You kinda drive through their yard to reach the cabin but it really is a nice drive up. We had an suv AWD and a Honda Accord, by going slow we did just fine. The weather had the upstairs tv out for a day, but Brad quickly resolved the problem. The sunrises were really beautiful too. The wood fireplaces made Christmas feel more homey. We enjoyed all levels of the house and having two kitchens and fireplaces. We suggest walking the driveway or property down to the trout pond. It’s so peaceful and you might see plenty of wildlife if you explore the property. The grocery store (Ingles) is very close. The WiFi was great. The Biltmore was close, as well as the NC Arboretum, which are fantastic places to visit. Hendersonville is a great little town right down the road too. The Pisgah National Forest is extremely close and you can hike many trials and see several waterfalls. We went to Tom Sawyers Christmas tree farm to cut our own tree and it was an amazing family farm to visit.
Downtown Asheville has almost everything to do and is fun for all. There are several breweries nearby and they are quite entertaining. The area also has several places to enjoy biking. A few miles from the cabin is Mills river recreation area and we wished we brought our bikes to ride some trials. We also drove over to Cataloochee and did some skiing and our family had a great day on the mountain. It rained quite a bit during the end of our stay which caused many of the local roads to close due to flooding. I would suggest just looking carefully at your gps and maps as we found other ways to get around the closures. Overall, if you want peace, serenity, and quiet time, but close to many activities, then we suggest this perfect little cabin. We wanted to stay longer, but unfortunately it was booked or we would’ve extended our stay. We hope to make it back one day to this place. It is a gem in the woods. Only thing we missed was a nice hot tub. Other than that it was a fantastic place to be for our holiday. Thanks to Brad and Anne for everything!!
