Overview

About the property

Villa Parthenope, a 17th-century villa, has been recently renovated with care and tastefully decorated. It perches in a peaceful and quiet spot, yet is centrally located in Positano. Hospitality is offered in a pleasant apartment, Casa Leucosia, on the ground floor down about 30 steps from the road.

The apartment is independent and allows privacy. One of the great advantages of the villa is that a car is not required. The apartment is located a 5-minute walk uphill from the celebrated chic boutiques, restaurants and bars of Positano. Fifteen minutes walk downhill takes the visitor to the main beach.

Casa Leucosia (sleeps 4) has an entrance leading into the large living/dining room, which is furnished in a charming style with white-washed walls, terra cotta tiled floors, wooden table and chairs, comfortable sofa, air conditioning, WiFi, TV LCD and 2 French windows opening onto the balcony, which runs the length of the apartment and faces a truly picture-perfect view of the sea and Positano. The kitchen is cheerful, compact and efficient, with refrigerator, stove with 3 gas burners, oven and microwave oven. There is a separate powder room with washing machine. The upper level (10 steps) has 2 double bedrooms with vaulted ceilings, each with en suite bathroom (both with shower).

Another great advantage of Casa Leucosia: private stairs which, through the garden, lead directly to the beach in less than 5 minutes.

Beautiful property in ideal location

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I have just returned from a week in this beautiful part of the world. The villa was spotlessly clean and well furnished. It is in an ideal location in Positano, not too high, but high enough to have a wonderful view. There are good restaurants close by and and the private stairs are ideal for getting down to the beach and more restaurants.

Pierpaolo was very helpful and a pleasure to deal with. His recommended driver Mr Lupo, although maybe not your conventional limo driver, was also very helpful. We used Mr Lupo a couple of times during our stay and by the end of the week we felt we had gained a good friend.

We would recommend this property unreservedly and hope to returning ourselves next year.

Great location and view in Positano

  • 5 of 5

We are 2 senior couples who stayed in Casa Leucosia for one week, starting June 20, 2017. The apartment is located down a staircase right beside Le Sireneuse Hotel. The apartment was clean and comfortable for two couples. I loved the blue and white Santorini inspired decor. The bedrooms, on the second floor, were both about the same size, large for Italy, one with an ensuite bathroom and the other with the bathroom right next door. The beds were very comfortable and the showers always had hot water and good pressure. We were there in very hot weather and the air-conditioning worked well. The kitchen is very small and there is no dishwasher but it is adequate for making breakfasts and small meals. A newer microwave and automatic coffeemaker would have been an asset. A small laundry room attached to the kitchen had an excellent clothes washing machine and a handy third toilet and sink for the first floor.

The best part of the apartment is the balcony with an amazing view of the Mediterranean and Positano. There was enough room for the four of us to lounge, eat and dry our clothes. It was a magical place in the evening with a bottle of Rose and some limoncello.

There is a stairway between Casa Leucosia and Casa Ligea which leads down through the garden and onto a narrow stairway leading down to the main beach. It joins up with the stairway used by Le Sureneuse Hotel guests. It was a great shortcut to the beach and fabulous exercise, especially on the way back up. It took us about 5 minutes to walk down and about 15 minutes on the way back up, including pauses to catch our breaths. Younger or fitter guests could make the trip much more quickly.

I don't know who owns the garden beneath the balcony but it desperately needs some maintenance. There are some beautiful plants and a lemon and an apricot tree hidden in the tangle of grass and bushes. The apricots were rotting on the ground resulting in a funky smell as you walked through to the beach stairs. With a little care, it could be a stunning feature. Having said that, it was much nicer to look down over a green space than to look directly onto a neighbouring building.

We did have a problem with ants invading from the balcony which Pierpaolo took care of immediately on being notified. Pierpaolo was very helpful and responsive, apologizing repeatedly for the ants. He had lots of information in the apartment on local restaurants and trips, which was much appreciated.

Grazie, Pierpaolo.

Perfect in every way!

  • 5 of 5

My Mother and I just returned from staying for a week at Casa Leucosia. First, the pictures of the view from the terrace do not do it justice. It is absolutely breathtaking! My Mother owns her own cleaning business and has major OCD when it comes to cleanliness. She was beyond impressed with how clean the place was! It is in the perfect location to the beach and the center of town. It is also perfectly situated so that you do not hear all of the traffic from the main road at night. Pierpaulo was the kindest, most gracious host and his recommendations for restaurants were great! There is nothing bad to say about staying here. We were so sad to leave this beautiful place and even inquired about booking a trip for next summer before we left. I recommend this place to everyone who is interested in visiting Positano!!

excellent

Brilliant location and views superb. Immaculately presented and furnished. Pierpaulo and Anna Maria both lovely and helpful. Small critisisms - needs a toaster for the kitchen and most importantly the shower stall in the second bedroom needs a showerbase to prevent water splashing on the floor.

Would recommend this villa for anyone visiting Positano - particulary for its location. The golden rule being the higher the location, the more climbing and the less you are likely to head into the downtown shops and restaurant areas.

Would certainly return to this property.

A Gem!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed staying at this beautiful apartment in Positano. The pictures do not do it justice. Perfect location and within walking distance of everything you could possibly want in Positano. Fabulous views and cool private stairs to beach. I don't think we could have picked anything better for our stay on the Amalfi Coast.

Perfect apartment, perfect location, perfect host

  • 5 of 5

My two friends and I stayed at Casa Leucosia in April 2017. The apartment was immaculately clean (a very important factor for me) and very charming. And the patio...perfection! It runs the entire length of the apartment with a gorgeous view of both the sea and the Positano hillside. The apartment is in the heart of Positano right next to the most expensive hotel in town, with a private staircase down to the beach, and close to all the restaurants, bars, and shops. Beyond the apartment, Pierpaolo was a fantastic host. I had numerous questions for him before our trip, and he always responded. My friends were arriving before I was, and Pierpaolo was also kind enough to communicate directly with them to arrange for them to meet his colleague, Mr. Vincenzo, to let him into the apartment as Pierpaolo was out of town. Pierpaolo also arranged a private transfer for me with Mr. Lupo from the Naples airport as I arrived a day later (side note...Mr. Lupo was a very entertaining guy and I would highly recommend him for a transfer or a tour). Going above and beyond, one night we returned to the apartment, and the key broke in the lock. We were nervous to call Pierpaolo, but he was very kind and understanding. He quickly arranged for Mr. Vincenzo to come all the way from Sorrento to let us into the apartment. We were very grateful to Pierpaolo and Mr. Vincenzo for their understanding and quick response to our problem. To summarize, I cannot recommend Casa Leucosia enough...a superb apartment in a phenomenal location managed by a fantastic host.
