Comfortable house with great views

  • 4 of 5

Lovely house, wonderful views. Only problem was the damp on wall in twin room, the room had a damp smell. Remember you have to pay for towels and bedding. The garage is not big enough for 2 cars.

Gorgeous!

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful house, well equipped, has everything one needs. We stayed with one more family, and the layout of the house allowed the privacy for each of the family (two levels of the house) and enough space to be together. Every appliance worked well with no issues. Internet was superb! Everyday we used grill and sat outside admiring gorgeous view. No restaurant in the town can offer such a view! Mornings were chilly and we went to explore the surroundings, and afternoons got hotter so we would come back to the house and enjoy the pool. We all loved the pool! The communication with the owner was good and she would respond fast with all our questions.

Just a note for US/foreign travelers:

These are not complains, but rather recommendations.

1) You must purchase bedsheets and towels on the spot upon your arrival ($15/per person). I am writing that because cleaning lady asked us if we happen to bring our bedsheets with us...I think Dordogne is common travel destination for French, and that is how they do it. However, when you travel from foreign country you want to minimize your luggage and definitely not to take bedsheets and towels. It would be better to have it included in the price in advance, but again just be aware and not surprised.

2) Would be good to have big trash bin in the garage (if it is permitted by the town). We had to take it down ourselves, which is 10 min walk down the hill (if you are not using the car). With two families (with kids) you can accumulate trash faster, and that was small inconvenience for us. In all places we stayed, trash was collected in close by bins, and then taken care by the cleaners (for which you also pay as part of the contract).

3) Learn some French, because in Dordogne you will use it. People are so nice and so patient, and they will also help you with the pronunciation. I loved it!

relaxing cottage in dordogne

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for one week. Just a cute french country cottage in the best part of the dordogne valley. Well stocked kitchen. very comfortable beds. amazing views. pool came in handy during the unusually hot week. because it's built into a cliff the rental stayed nice and cool. highly recommend compact car for narrow streets

Belle endroit, mais.....

  • 3 of 5

  • 5 of 5

(Text automatically translated) This beautiful village, one of the most beautiful villages of France, is nestled at the foot of high cliffs in the south, in a loop of the Dordogne. It has an almost Mediterranean climate. This site has been inhabited since prehistoric times and abundance of carved stones found in fields and gardens reflected. Beside the church, half cliff and through this natural solarium, opens an amazing exotic garden, with its lush subtropical vegetation, Mediterranean, almost in the wild: palm trees of all kinds, bougainvillea, Passiflora, mimosa, oleander arboreal, banana, orange, lemon, pomegranate, giant bamboo, fig barbaric, agaves, etc. (free tour and free all year round).
