(Text automatically translated) Vacation rentals (approved by key holiday ***) per week (or weekend) of a beautiful studio of 37 m² *** comfortable for 2-3 people. Typically Alsatian beamed, located on the second floor of a half-timbered house dating from the 15th century, in the heart of the old town of Colmar.
This apartment is right in the middle of the old city, easy walking to everything. There are nice views from the front. (Even so, it comes with a space in a nearby parking garage, which is a great convenience.) I was initially worried that it would be noisy with all the foot traffic, but the windows were virtually soundproof when closed; leaving them open in the day made this a private sidewalk cafe. The apartment is spotlessly clean. The kitchen is very modern, with great appliances, cooking utensils, and tableware. The bathroom is roomy and the shower good, with plenty of hot water. The people (who own the shop downstairs) are very welcoming and very helpful, with many suggestions of places to eat and to visit. (We had Wifi trouble and they were immediately engaged in fixing it.) (Oh, and they accept pets.) Two warnings: the spiral staircase up is steep and would be hard for people with any mobility limitations; and the bed is a double futon that is narrow for two. Otherwise, we have only the nicest things to say and we would go back--happily.
My wife and I stayed in the studio apartment for 12 days and had a wonderful time. We have previously rented many apartments in Europe but this studio was far and away the best and most spacious. It was very well equipped with everything one could need, including a washer, a dryer, and a dishwasher. The studio is located in the heart of the old city in a lively neighborhood with many cafes and shops. The studio comes with a parking space in a nearby underground garage so day trips through the wine region and into Switzerland and Germany are easily possible. But the best part was the Held family who did everything possible to make our stay enjoyable. We will definitely return!
We were very pleased with the accommodation and highly recommend it. It is very spacious and has been renovated in recent years. There is everything you need and more and it is in the heart of the old town.
Jacek: This is a lovely apartment in a good location. Everything needed is provided, the kitchen is especially good, and the apartment is pleasantly decorated. The hosts are extremely helpful. Highly recommend."
My 5-week stay (Nov 2011) in this beautiful and so-comfortable apartment was just heavenly. The building is romantically mediaeval yet the interior is divinely new and modern, with excellent heating and enchanting views of all the Christmas activity in the little streets below. The family-owners are so very lovely, so caring and thoughtful, and brilliantly decorated all the window-boxes and the building with Christmas magic, and even put a beautiful Christmas tree in my apartment. It was such a magical holiday - I was very sad to leave.
"The studio was very nice, as was the proprietor and her daughter. There was everything you could ask for, except, alas, for air conditioning. That was not her fault, just my bad luck for being in Colmar when it was very warm. I suggest that anyone visiting should get VERY precise instructions about the location. I had two GPS units and both left me blocks away!"
