Overview

About the property

Villa Bazjaki is located on the edge of the tiny hamlet of Bazjaki, facing southwards and with uninterrupted views of the Mirna Valley and the historic town of Motovun, famed for its annual film festival. The house has been rebuilt using the original stone from the ruin found on the site when it was bought by its present owners in 2004. It has four double bedrooms, two of them en suite and will comfortably accommodate 8 people. There is a huge open living space, comprising kitchen, dining and sitting areas. The communal living areas have a beautiful stone floor and the bedroom floors are made from oak boards. The furniture is a primarily a mixture of antiques sourced from England and locally in Istria. The house has large windows and high ceilings creating a great feeling of light and space.

There is also a large terrace for open air dining and barbeque.

The house sits in over 4000 square metres of private garden with stunning views across the valley towards Motovun. There is a 9 x 4 metre infinity pool with plenty of space around the pool for sun loungers. Around the substantial lawned area are dotted huge stones taken from the original house and now acting as garden features.

There is a Bose "ipod" dock available for use.

Really nice house with an incredible view

  • 5 of 5

We stayed two families in the lovely house for a week. Everything was perfect and the view from the house, over the pool, towards Motovun is spectacular!

Beautiful Villa with Stunning Views

  • 5 of 5

We've stayed for the second time in this stunning villa and just like last year it's been a wonderful experience. The house is open, bright, clean, tasteful and offers enough space for 2 families. It was perfectly set up for kids. It's the perfect place to be if you are looking for a tranquil and secluded hideaway, yet there is a town with stores and restaurants close by and bustling Motovun just a stonethrow away. We explored the beaches on both coasts of Istria and felt happy to return to our wonderful house in the evenings. Bruce, the owner, manages to make you feel welcome and is open and flexible when it comes to questions that may come up. We will be back for sure.

Absolute peace

  • 5 of 5

The advert is indeed very accurate but it would be very difficult for the pictures to do justice to this place. It is clear the property has been a labour of love by the owners and it felt like a real privilege to stay there.

My group were looking for somewhere tranquil and that is exactly what we found. You can just about hear the neighbours if they are in their garden and there are some dogs living in the valley that you can sometimes hear barking at each other in the distance (neither of which detracted at all from our experience), but other than that there is absolute peace.

The views out across the valley are completely mesmerising - it is not an exaggeration to say that we couldn't walk past a window in the house without stopping for a minute to stare.

The house was very well equipped, there was not a single occasion on which we couldn't find something that we needed. The cleaners were extremely rigorous and with the space and care taken in the design it was very easy to keep clean.

I had kept the location and identity of this accomodation secret from the rest of my group until we arrived, as we'd been working and staying elsewhere in Croatia. Seeing their reactions when we arrived was definitely one of the highlights of my time out there - I am sure your reaction when you see it will be no different!

"The villa was exactly as...

"The villa was exactly as shown in the photographs if not better. The views and surrounding countryside were spectacular. A great location to explore Istria and to spend days relaxing by the pool. A car is essential. We enjoyed every minute of our stay here."

..wo die Seele Urlaub macht!

  • 5 of 5

Reiseziele waren für uns u.a.

  • 5 of 5
