Comfortable home and wonderful location

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed a week stay in this lovely home. We had planned to share the rental with a friend who was unable to join us so we had lots of room. The outdoor area is beautiful with lots of different seating areas and we enjoyed having some meals outside. The ducks were a lot of fun to feed and it was so quiet with the nice stream running behind the house. We like to play pingpong and the table is set out of the breeze so we had a lot of fun games. The swimming pool was pretty but it was much too chilly for a swim when we were there in September. The house is nicely furnished and it was great to have a washer and dryer. The kitchen is well equipped and has a ton of dishes but there are no spices or any consumables in the cabinet, or dishwashing liquid so it is necessary to bring those items. Fortunately, there are two big supermarkets within a mile or two. The Sunday market in town is also a good source of spice, produce and take away food. We were disappointed that the Sunday market was so wonderful but the Thursday market was sparse. The house location could not be better, just two blocks to the center of town. There is a nice bakery just one block away. The owners are very nice and gave us lots of advice about the house and things to do in the area. We hope to return to this lovely home.

Absolutely the best

  • 5 of 5

Well for anyone wanting to stay in Provence, there is not a better town than L'isle sur la Sorgue and there is surely not a more perfect home to live in while you are there. The owners were the best at showing us everything we needed to know about the home. The beds were all perfect. The kitchen perfectly stocked. But possible the best thing was the outdoors. We were 3 couples and enjoyed everything about the place from all the outdoor seating and eating areas, the ping pong table to the kayaks. Having bikes available really made the trip. We took day trips to Gordes, St. Remy, Aix de Provence, Avignon, Chateneuf da Pape and Lourmarin. Everything so close by. I highly highly recommend this home and this part of Provence. Thanks so much for helping us have our most wonderful vacation ever.

Lovely, beautifully appointed home.

  • 5 of 5

This is our second time in this house and Dominique and Alain have made wonderful additions. The location is ideal: walking distance to anything but removed adequately for privacy and a sense of quiet and retreat. The setting is really rather idyllic with ducks, birds, flowers and herbs and the river running by the patio. Cooking facilities are beyond ample but local restaurant recommendations were excellent. The Owners are wonderful hosts, giving good directions, suggestions and recommendations. We can give the highest recommendation to this home and the care the owners take of it and their guests.

Beautiful Property, perfect location!

  • 5 of 5

This review is long-overdue for such a wonderful stay! We were an extended family group with our retired aunt and uncle, my husband and I and our 12 year old son. Dominique and Alain greeted us with snacks and a lovely bottle of wine. Much appreciated after the long drive from Paris! This house was perfect for us! It's a 5 min walk to the beautiful town for shopping, meals and ice cream. Likewise, a lovely bakery is just around the corner for your morning croissant. A HyperU is a 2 min drive away for all your grocery needs.

Alain had great restaurant recommendations, Le Mistral was favorite. We found ourselves eating our main meal at lunch, then wandering back to the house for a rest and afternoon cocktails each day.

As others have mentioned, the friendly ducks were a real treat. We also made use of the ping pong table and kayaks provided. A/C in each of the bedrooms was a plus at night, although it wasn't really necessary except in the upstairs room. We kept our bedroon door open to smell the flowers and hear the church bells ring.

The entire house is lovingly furnished to a high standard, bed linens and towels are of high quality and very comfortable. We appreciated the washer and dryer as well after 10 days of previous traavel! The kitchen is well-outfitted (one of the nicest we've seen anywhere and we rent houses a couple of times a year) with quality pans and knives and plenty of serving ware.

While the location is in a neighborhood, your would never know it. The lush landscaping and quiet neighboors make you feel as if you're in the country.

We highly recommend this property and hope to return again!
