Our flat - the historic "House of the Red Cross" - is in Prague 1 - Mala Strana, the best part of Prague, up near the Castle and close to many embassies. Essentially everything you are likely to want to see is within walking distance. We are very close to the castle, but the river is also nearby and you can rent rowing boats. In addition to the architecture, we are also close to the hillside parks behind the German and US embassies, where you can walk everywhere and get great views. The building itself is a listed monument and dates back to 1541. It was beautifully restored to a high standard by an Italian restoration company two years ago. Free wireless broadband.

Excellent location, nice and clean, roomy, easy to find.
Thanks very much Gary, and thank you for leaving our flat so beautifully clean and tidy!
I'm very glad you had such a wonderful time and much appreciated your photographs and newspaper article. With best wishes, Anna
Great, quiet location
This apartment worked really well for my friends and I during our week in Prague. The apartment was very quiet and clean, and the location was great as it was a bit removed from the craziness that is the heart of Prague and all of the tourists. It’s an easy downhill walk to the trolley line, but is a very busy trolley line during high tourist season. Anna was wonderful to deal with and patient with me as I asked a lot of questions and worked through the payment details. But everything was as expected and ready for us when we arrived!
I have dropped this to 4 stars for a few reasons. The first is that the stairs up the apartment are a bit treacherous. We had difficulty getting our large bags up, but luckily you only have to do that once. And this is what you have to maneuver after you make your way up a large hill to the apartment entrance. It is quite a good workout to get to the apartment so not a place you would necessarily come back to often during the day. There are no views from the apartment, but there is a great little restaurant downstairs which is a nice place to sit and have a beer.
The second is that the drainage in the shower didn’t quite work. We took very short showers and it appeared to still leak, so we ended up showering in the tub instead. We were told this was fixed, but it was not. And the AC worked better in some areas than others. Because this is an attic space, it got pretty warm in the room I was in as the AC would shut down during the night even though we did not turn it off.
Otherwise, it was really great and is a super apartment for those who are healthy, like to walk and climb stairs, and want to live under the castle. Definitely a great place for a younger active and adventurous family. There is a sneaky back way in/out of the area that we discovered that is very helpful to know about. If they fix the AC and drainage issues, this place would be a 5 for sure!
Lovely flat but those stairs!
The 2 bedroom apartment is as described, spacious, adorable and very comfortable. The area that it’s in, is very safe, there are many Embassies nearby so there are a lot of police officers there too. It is very walkable with regards to seeing the sites as well as getting to public transportation. However the one thing that was a challenge was the stairs to the apartment on the top floor. They are circular, and although there is only 3 floors, the higher you walk the narrower the steps get. I highly recommend this vacation flat, just be aware of the stairs if that might be a concern for you because there is a lot of walking in the beautiful city of Prague.
lovely home in a perfect location
My brother nephew and I stayed for a week and we couldn't have been happier. The home was very comfortable and the location couldn't be more perfect. Anna was very accessible if needed and responded to emails almost immediately. It was nice to be able to cook breakfast and do our laundry and have the comforts of home over a hotel.
We were close to a main hub of trams that could easily take us to any part of the city we'd like to go easily and a very central area to walk to anything you'd like to see. Parking ended up not being available but after paying for a lot that cost us a shocking 75 USD for our first day in town we quickly got resourceful and discovered that if we took a tram out to the end of the lines (we did both the east and west side of the city depending on which direction we had planned for our next daytrip) we could park for free in the residential areas. The ease of the trams actually saved us time not needing to drive through the city. The trams are so efficient and frequent!
I would love to return and stay at Anna's home again, highly highly recommended.
Great location, charming apartment
Stayed in this lovely apartment for 3 nights in May 2018 and loved every minute of it. Was with 3 friends and they all felt the same way. Very charming historic building which was centrally located and easy to walk to all the sights. It was also quiet and very spacious. Some good restaurants close by as well, especially a small Italian one beside the American Embassy. Excellent pizza. Just one little nugget of info...the stairs are circular, narrow and quite steep but manageable.
Excellent experience! Great location, large apartment, great communication with owner, - you can’t go wrong with this rental!
