About the property

Le Treilhac gives today’s families the opportunity to live in a building with a style that has only previously been available to a very privileged few.

It is a property with character that offers a host of possibilities in a peaceful and calm environment. It is an ideal location to discover the charm of black ‘Périgord’ with the advantages and freedom that self catering holidays bring.

A wonderful place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

Our extended familly of 15 people, ranging in age from 1 year to 71 years, all had a most memorable holiday. The house is so handsome, spacious, very comfortable, clean and very well equipped, with lovely grounds. It is perfectly situated for exploring the Vezere and Dordogne valleys - with the Dordogne river at the bottom of the garden with our own private access. The owner went out of his way to ensure we had all we required , even providing much appreciated welcome presents. A beautiful, quiet location, but very close to all amenities in Limeuil, Le Buisson and Le Bugue. We loved our stay and hope to return someday.

Cadre idéal pour des vacances en groupe

  • 5 of 5

  • 5 of 5

Belle demeure familiale

  • 4 of 5

  • 5 of 5

The house, 320 square feet of living space dispatched equally on three floors, is set on a plot of about 4 acres, in front of the town hall and school. The property has a private access to the river Dordogne where anglers can, at any time, indulge in their hobby or passion. Basement is a half buried cellar. First floor, leading by a central corridor to a WC, Kitchen communicating with a playroom/TV room on one side, on the other a combined living dinning room.

Second floor, two bathrooms (one with shower and WC, the other with bath/shower) one communicating with the master bedroom which is equipped with a king sized bed. There are two further bedrooms, the first equipped with one double, one single and a child bed, and wash hand basin in the turret. The second bedroom has a double bed and wash hand basin.

On the third floor, there are, four bedrooms (two with washbowl in the turrets) one with double bed others with single beds. There is a WC, and two shower rooms one equipped with WC.

Here more than anywhere else, ancient stones have retained all of their authenticity and their power to evoke the past. For it is here that the most beautiful buildings of the Middle Ages and the Renaissance have survived almost untouched through the centuries.

It’s a place of exceptional heritage, classified by UNESCO as a world heritage site. Within an area of 30 miles can be found some of the most famous and richest sites of the European prehistoric period, bearing testimony of 400,000 years of uninterrupted human occupation. Famous for it’s wide variety of caves, caverns, and gorges. Here you can find impressive calcite flows, needle-fine stalactites, translucent curtains, and numerous stalagmites.

There are castles, some of them overhanging the rivers Dordogne or Vezère, all surrounded by beautiful scenery. You can tour the area by car, but for a more personal and intimate view you can ride a bike or canoe down the rivers. Perigord is a paradise of good food, where confits, foie gras and magrets, are some of the most tasty dishes you can find in France. It is of course the country of the truffle and a famous wine region where the sun and green grass combine to produce truly wonderful food and drink.
