This Holiday House belongs to my parents from 1990 .My father restored it few years ago, when I had a degree in literature and Languages in Pisa. It was my dream have contacts with foreign people and practice languages everyday.
Mimicha purchased this Villa in 1990
Why Mimicha chose San Martino In Freddana
I ‘m so interested to other cultures and I like dealing with people from all over the world. My other passion is cooking, that’s why I organize Tuscan meals and cooking class for my guests. It is a nice experience to taste home-made flavors and preparations. I live quite next the house, this area means a lot for me, here are my origins. I was born here and grew here, I travelled a lot but this is my place, I know its products and the uses of my earth and with my job I’d like to express what really this earth is : its hills, perfumes, green, special food and traditions.
What makes this Villa unique
This property is the place to know “my” region. Here is a strategic point to have a global view of Tuscany : Arts( Lucca, Florence, Pisa, Siena and all other cities) Beach(Versilia beachside with all his comforts) Mountains ( Abetone )Foods and wine tasting (Garfagnana, Chianti) or just relax and activities( the property has private swimming pool and tennis and golf course) . These are just some example of what our place offers. That means : one hour to reach whatever you are looking for in Tuscany. Enjoy your stay!

the holiday of your dreams
we spent 8 days in this wonderful property and I wish we could stay there forever. its the perfect place to relax and also the best starting point for sightseeing like Lucca, Pisa or Firenze.
the whole property is surrounded by a marvelous landscape and in the evening you can enjoy the silence at the patio. so really an unforgettable holiday and of course we will return next year.
I would like really to thank you for that. You are very polite. I'd be happy to have them as a guest again!!
Lovely location, great pool, friendly owner
Well appointed villa, good location, great pool, helpful and friendly owner.
A few only minor issues. The description of bathroms is misleading. For each bathroom the description reads "bath with shower" which implies there is a bath. This is not correct. There are showers, not baths. There is not quite enough comfortable seating outside the house - not enough for 7 people. Plenty around the pool, but it would be good to have more around the terrace outside the house. Kitchen good, but a little short of utensils for cooking. OK if you want to reheat a pizza or for cold food.
Otherwise everthing great. I would be happy to go again.
Thanks for the review. For us are important in every words that s why I d like to specific some points .
About the outdoor space , it s the first time someone tell me, because as you can see from the picture there are two table with minimum 6+6 place persons.
About the kitchen I'm disappointed because there is utensils to do everything . I don't think you have just reheat a pizza because the kitchen seems very used and dirty .
Sorry , it has been a pleasure to know you and I saw you were good people , but It was important for me specify some points.
Close to Perfection
Travelled here with two friends at the end of September this year. The description is an exact match for the property. There are no nasty surprises - the photographs are very recent and accurately reflect the property. It is an old agricultural building that has been tastefully renovated as a holiday home. It could easily be a full-time residence. The location is perfect, very quiet and secluded, but easy to find. Lucca is easily accessed, as are all the other tourist attractions in the area. All the rooms are comfortable. We arrived the day after a huge storm, so had a few minor problems with the electrics and WiFi, all of whihc were quickly sorted with Mimi's assistance (she speaks perfect English!) Despite the rural setting, there is a small supermarket, other shops and restaurants very close. In summary, a fantastic holiday - just wish we could have stayed longer. Would we go back? Yes!
Such a pleasure to meet persons so kind and nice. I really hope to have them here again. Thanks again for the nice words!!
6 of us stayed at Casa Elia during July 2016 and we were not disappointed. The villa location is perfect, the views are stunning and it's very peaceful (apart from the local cockerel 'alarm clock'!) The outside area is fantastic and the photos don't do it justice. The pool and grounds are very spacious - the ping pong table and small golf course were an added bonus. Bedrooms are pretty & a good size. Our only criticisms are that we felt a few chairs around the pool other than just sun loungers would be good, the shower cubicles are quite snug, the mattresses a little springy and only one pillow for each person, the kitchen equipment was sufficient but it could do with some 'serving' type dishes for sharing salads etc) but these issues really did nothing to detract from a fantastic holiday and are just very small picky points! The owners were fantastic to deal with - extremely helpful and responded to queries very quickly. We ran out of gas during our stay but this was sorted within minutes! We took advantage of having a typical Tuscan meal prepared for us by Mimi (owner) and it was delicious. Overall we were absolutely delighted with the villa & had a fabulous holiday in a stunning area.
It has been a pleasure also for me prepare the meal for you . People so friendly and nice. We take your advice as a treasure , for us is so important . Living the house is different , that’s why you can advice what and if something miss and we can get better.
I will buy the chairs and all you advice. Thank you so much and hoping to have as my guest again.
All the best
Fantastic property, stunning location.
We had a fantastic stay What a beautiful location. Mimicha was very welcoming and even left us a bottle of wine as a gift.
The villa is traditional which we loved. It is large and exactly as described.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend and hope to return.
Travel to Lucca was easy and its an amazing place. Make sure you walk or cycle the walls!
Really thank you very much for your lovely review, I hope that one day we will meet again.
I hope to soon, Mimicha
Beautiful beautiful beautiful.....
We had a wonderful week at Villa Elia celebrating my parents' Wedding Anniversary. The villa was everything we expected and more.
My family and I (10 of us) stayed at the end of June and as this was our first family vacation together, we were a little unsure of how a week under the same roof would work out. The reason I share this is that not one argument was had and that in large part was due to the wonderful space, amenities and welcome that we received in Villa Elia.
The villa is immaculately clean, very comfortable and provided all the space we needed as a large and varied family (3 generations together).
We shopped in Lucca but found the local supermarket more than adequate and also very reasonably priced.
We will be delighted to stay again in the future and have to warmly recommend other families to consider booking. You won't be disappointed.
Thank you very much for the lovely review! It was a pleasure to host your family and it is a great encouragement to start the new year with their positive feedback. Our intent is to always do our best in welcoming travelers at casa Elia, hoping to leave a lasting and unforgettable memory.
Lucca with its monuments, squares, fountains, museums; with its tranquil medieval town centre in great part pedestrian, with its theatre, the Teatro del Giglio, and it's esteemed seasons of opera, prose, orchestral music and dance; with its important cultural events such as the Comics Revue and the Summer Festival, the traditional ones such as the procession of Santa Croce during the city's September festivities, or the Flower Market in April. Lucca is a city which offers the tourists attractions of historic interest and natural beauty with the sure knowledge that you can walk through the city and surrounding areas at any time in complete safety.
2000 years of history will catch your eyes walking around Lucca’s squares and streets. It is home to splendid Romanesque churches, museums, monuments, and birth place of Giacomo Puccini (1858) one of Italy most famous composer.
