"Magnificent house in mag...
"Magnificent house in magnificent place!
We got a strong feeling of history of many generations, had very welcoming hosts and enjoyed their home cooked foods with local products (Angelo is an excellent cook and an expert on fish). There are magnificent views out of the windows and a terrace with same great views - it was everything we wanted from our "Italian vacation". Casa Luna exceeded all expectations!
We had an entire floor with antique furniture (and modern plumbing), comfortable beds (with the wonderful smell of bedding), and a fully equipped kitchen. Silence was broken only by the singing of birds and the chirping of grasshoppers during the day at night. The hosts Angelo and Stefania were the embodiment of hospitality!
Add to this the zigzagging road to Sarzana (by the second time we were driving it like the locals) and the proximity of all that your heart desires (sea, shopping, sightseeing big and small scale - Cinque Terre, Pisa, Lucca, Portofino) - Casa Luna was, no doubt, the gem of our trip.
If you want to feel the spirit of the real Italy - mountain, fish, pasta, sea, sun and olives - you''re here! No doubt!
The views from the house ...
The views from the house were spectacular, including seeing the sea between the mountains! Angelo & Stefania couldn't have been more welcoming & helpful, yet not the least bit intrusive. The house was immaculate and perfectly restored, including the furnishings, and the kitchen was well-equipped. There are 77 steps down to the entrance from the parking area, so that might be a consideration for some, but we loved the exercise (the steps are also well-lit at night with switches at the top & bottom). Most delightful stay!
