11th stay and more booked!! That says it all!
Yes, this is our 11th stay. With many physical ailments, this place is one that I am able to navigate with ease, especially with osteo-arthritis of the hips. Very few steps, a bedroom on the 1st floor (if needed, but not yet), an awesome King bed suite on the 2nd floor, and the pier is right there with water on all three sides. This rental has seen me through years of hardships and I always thank God when I return for rejuvenation and refreshment. The osprey are abundant, the eagles catching fish, great blue herons which landed right on the pier several times, make for an awesome getaway. There are always new additions, and this year there was a new firepit near the water which is just beautifully crafted! I also enjoyed the new binoculars....WOW! Mike, the owner and Billie Jo, his assistant, are always quick to respond and so easy to work with as well. I can't recommend this place more highly and am looking forward to my next trip!
Excellent location; Peaceful, Quiet and Clean
Overall - this home is an excellent find. Although there are two bedrooms, the overall layout is very comfortable and there is plenty of space. (The second floor bedroom with extra pull out and sitting area is giant.) Love this place.
Beautiful location on the water.
We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend getaway. Elk Neck State Park was a great place for a hike. We have already booked a return visit next year.
Another Terriffic Stay!
This was our 3rd stay and can't wait until we are able to return!
We truly enjoyed the new firepit by the waters edge where we enjoyed a roaring fire and great conversation.
There also is a new deck just outside the living room where we cooked Little Neck Clams on the grille for appetizers and steaks for the main course.
This VRBO is just a great place to be!

Bayfront Nature Retreat
The property is very well-appointed, it had absolutely everything one could think of needing while staying there. Although neighboring properites are in close proximity it felt very private and secluded. We made a point to sit in all seven 'seating areas', inlcuding playing Scrabble on the second floor sun porch and lounging on the Adirondack chairs at the end of the 50 foot pier. The screened-in porch is insect-free. During our late April stay, we gas grilled, but it was too early in the season to kayak. The serenity of the wild life including all the sea fowl added to our relaxation. Thanks for the menu collection; our favorite dining places were Wellwood and Woody's.
The house was immaculate. Gorgeous views from every window. We woke up early and watched the sun rise. The fish weren’t biting, but we had a great time anyway!
Lovely Cape Cod home near Charlestown, Maryland; at the end of a cul-de-sac on the North East River, with deep water pier for your boat or wave runner. Public ramp available on Kirk Rd. Parking for trailer at Bay home. Beautiful view of Turkey Point and Carpenters Point. Quiet area to kayak and relax. Lovely yard with Adirondack chairs and picnic table for feasting on crabs. If you don't have a boat or want to worry about appointing a designated driver, the Wellwood Restaurant offers a Water Taxi for your convenience. Call 443-945-7125 and they will pick you up from the dock right on the property. The Wellwood Water Taxi can make enjoying the boating season fun and safe. Let their water taxi pick you up and then stop by the Wellwood and experience one of Maryland's best Crab Houses!
