Cottage, 3 Bedrooms + Other (See Description), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 6)
About Pat Burns
The cottage was purchased as a personal residence. We converted it to a rental in 2005 and continue to give it the loving care it deserves. It is inspected and licensed as a vacation rental, meeting all requirements for your safety, health and comfort. Bill is a lifelong Duluthian and knows this area and the community extremely well. He is a great resource for information on this area as well as, the north shore, BWCA, and the Quetico. We love this area for the beauty and all the activites we enjoy - skiing, kayaking, biking, paddling and wilderness camping.
Pat Burns purchased this House in 1995
Why Pat Burns chose Park Point
We both love Park Point, and live next to the cottage. The beach is peaceful and very quiet. At times we are the only people in our area down there. It is in a residential area and not near public beach areas. The beauty and serenity are so soulful and breathtaking. It is a great place for renewing one's spirit.
What makes this House unique
The cottage is loaded with old world charm - from the carved mahogany pillars to the built in china cabinet and reading nooks by the fireplace. It simply forces a slower pace. The front porch catches cool breezes and a great place to start the morning with a cup of coffee and a good book, while the back porch and deck are perfect as enclosed play area and a relaxing place to grill dinner. We provide four kayaks for use by our guests that allows a paddle on Lake Superior to explore the beauty of the lake. All to give an unforgettable experience and vacation needed in this fast paced world.

We had a wonderful time at this property. Its close proximity to the beach was the selling point but we found a beautifully maintained historic home. We are interested in knowing the history of the "bird men." Thanks for a special weekend with our family.
good rental for families
plenty of space for a family, well kept, reasonable driving distance to most local activities, access to private beach was great. while we were out and about the majority of each day, when we wanted to relax in the evenings to watch movies, wifi was hit or miss. property owners were friendly. overall, a nice place!
Great place, great spot!
Cool old house, very unique. The house was clean, well set up, and a pleasure to rent! Bill and Pat, the owners, are extremely nice people too!
Lovely Stay at Cottage on the Point
For our family vacation, we were looking for something other than a forgettable, cookie-cutter condo. We found the perfect place at Cottage on the Point. We enjoyed a bit of Park Point history through our stay at the Cottage. The rooms were spacious and generously appointed. Although one of the oldest homes on the Point, all modern amenities are present and accounted for. The kitchen is well-stocked with cooking utensils and supplies. The laundry room appliances are late model, complete with detergent, dryer sheets, etc.
A wonderful front porch overlooks a shady front yard. Out back, a short path through a copse of fragrant pines leads to a secluded beach with Lake Superior as far as the eye can see. Truly gorgeous!
We seldom make a return visit to any of our vacation sites, but I’m quite sure we’ll be making an exception with Cottage on the Point.
In Duluth for Family Wedding
This is a great place to stay! Spacious, clean and close to downtown events. We had 5 adults and a one year old. The weather was cool but we stayed inside to cook, visit and catch up with each other. I would recommend this for a successful family get-away!
Nice cottage with great access to the beach.
Ski: The Duluth area is home to wonderful downhill skiing at Spirit Mountain, and numerous and wonderful cross country ski trails in the city and nearby area.
