La Grange is a stone barn, converted a few years ago. It retains many original features such as exposed stone walls, and a huge window where the barn doors once stood giving the house a wonderfully light and spacious feel. Accommodation consists of a salon with huge stone fireplace, comfy sofas and a large oval dining table to easily seat eight people. There is a flat-screen TV, DVD and WiFi. The kitchen is fully equipped with all the usual domestic appliances, and there is a utility room with washing machine and dryer. There is a downstairs double bedroom and ensuite bathroom suitable for wheelchair users. Upstairs there are 3 further bedrooms; a double and 2 twins and 2 further bathrooms. Baby equipment such as cot, highchair and stairgates are also provided.
Outside, the property shares the new 10m x 5m pool with Le Fournil, and there are swings, table tennis, bikes, petanque etc to keep you amused!
Le Fournil and La Grange are situated in a quiet hamlet 1km from Azay le Ferron. The town has all amenities including boulangerie, supermarket, pharmacy & tourist office. Azay even has it’s own Château! It is about an hour from both Tours and Poitiers, convenient for visiting the pretty local towns and the numerous Châteaux and gardens that the region has to offer. The Parc de la Brenne nature reserve offers excellent outdoor activities. The houses have been recently renovated to the highest standard, with original beams and stonework, and all furniture and equipment has been purchased specifically for the properties and chosen to create a comfortable home from home. Both houses are fully equipped with the usual cooking and laundry facilities, flat screen TVs with UK satellite channels, DVD players and WiFi. There is a range of equipment for babies including high chairs, cots & linen and stairgates. Outside each house are patio areas with barbeques, and both houses share the heated pool.
Guest Book: I recently rented La Grange and had an absolutely fabulous time. The photos that you have on the website do not do the place justice! We have taken some really good shots if you would like some!
We really enjoyed the place and would definitely recommend it to others and are even thinking of coming back ourselves.
Thanks for arranging our holiday.
I've been meaning to send you an email after we returned from our holiday.
I just wanted to say what a fantastic time we had. The accommodation was
superb and the swimming pool was a great hit. Everything was in excellent
order and we would highly recommend it to our friends.
Thanks again and if we go to France in the future we will definitely contact
Best wishes and thank you for all your help.
Guest Book: We spent a wonderful two weeks at Le Grange. We found it the best Farm House we have rented in France.
We made an entry in the comments book (positive!) but forgot to mention we could have done with a garlic press (we had a good look in the kitchen but couldn't find one anywhere).

Just returned from Le Fournil and wanted to thank you for a great property let. The house is superb and finished to a high standard. The whole group thoroughly enjoyed the week.
With kind regards
We had a lovely time there and were delighted with the property and all the attention to detail which had obviously gone into everything. The weather was great, which meant we took full advantage of the pool and BBQ facilities.
Please would you thank Madame Jeanne and Michel for their hard work and for making our stay so pleasant. Thanks once again for a great holiday - maybe we will do it again
Guest Book: In regard to the first week's property, there is absolutely no comparison with this one. We thought it was absolutely superb. In every way. The decor was clean and modern and there had clearly been some money spent in order that fixtures and fittings were of a certain quality. The tiling finish was very impressive. The mattresses were obviously purchased with comfort in mind as oppose to budget. Quite simply, I would highly recommend the property if someone wanted to stay in the area.

We had a fabulous holiday staying in La Grange. The accommodation was more
than expected, particularly all the facilities for the children-especially the
pool. The conversion is lovely, so relaxing.
Many thanks, we will return in the future and recommend La Grange to our

We require a security deposit of £200 per property. Bed linen, bath towels & cot linen are included in the price.
After a long and tiring journey from Ireland, we arrived at La Grange, to find, not only what we had hoped for, but what we had dreamed our holiday rental would be like. The building is wonderfully renovated and extremely tastefully decorated...we fell in love immediately and started imagining our own French barn conversion that day!! But there is no need for us to buy one now knowing La Grange is here...the house was more than spacious enough for our two families and was very safe and child friendly. The extra kids equipment was much appreciated. But the best for us was all the outdoor living...we had intended to do much more sightseeing and eating out, but with the fab pool (love the lining, the heat and safety gate), the swings and slides, zip-wire etc as well as the BBQ and lovely gardens, there was no need to leave the grounds apart from grabbing some croissants in the village...with 4 kids under 5 years we had never imagined we would be able to actually relax on our holiday but this great set up allowed us a fantastic break and we will definitely be back again, next time hopefully booking both houses. For the kids (and the Dads!) another bonus was the english TV. The only thing I would say, is that in mid summer, the upstairs rooms were extremely hot - it would have been nice to have had some more fans and possibly some fly screens too but that is the only improvement I can think of.
Thanks again for the wonderful stay - we already look forward to the next time!
La Grange excellent, with plenty of ammenities both inside and out (kids aged 1, 3 & 6), all finished to a high standard. Pool was great and essential as it was super warm during our stay.
Jeanette nearby was quick to address any issues (kettle tripped electrics) and very friendly.
Bellebouche lake is about 20 mins, which also was great for the kids.
Numerous Vineyards and big Chateaux's all a further drive north, some small nearby places to visit such as Loche.
We had a fantastic stay at La Grange. We have a 10 month old baby, and the property more than catered for an infant. There were stair gates, a high chair, a cot, a microwave etc. The property is well furnished and spacious too - so would be ideal for larger families or groups.
It was clean, and well equipped with towels, and kitchen utensils, large fridge and freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer (although there is a line outside which we used as it was so hot) etc.
The pool was lovely, a great size and lovely and warm (we stayed at the end of June). There were sun loungers and umbrella shades for when the sun got too hot (and it was very hot at times). The table tennis table and swings, and boules sets were great for entertaining yourselves and the little one! The garden is big, with trees for shade - great for having a picnic under, and lovely views over the fields behind.
We had quite a few BBQ's and it was lovely to sit outside in the evenings and drink some Rose while the sun went down!
Inside the property are loads of information pamphlets about places to visit - we visited the Zoo (40 mins away) which was fantastic, a great day trip. 5 mins away is another animal park that is worth a look. The local area has a plethora of chateaus to go and see with lovely gardens. There is a market in Loches - with a castle & Keep to have a wander through. The Boulangerie in Azay le Ferron is great with fab pain au chocolats! We found that everyone we met were really friendly and helpful.
If you need to use the internet the Tourist Office does have computers that you can use. (It's right by the Chateau in Azay).
I would recomend staying here - excellent for families with kids. A car would be very useful to get around to the local towns and attractions as it is quite a rural area. Most places to visit are 5 mins to half hour drive away.
Azay le Ferron is situated in the Indre in the centre of France. It is in the Parc Naturel Regional de la Brenne, also known as the 'Park of 1000 lakes'. This is an area of outstanding natural beauty which offers activities for all age groups. The area is very popular with nature-lovers, and is a major centre for bird-watching. The nearby Bellebouche leisure complex at Mezieres en Brenne offers water sports and fishing, and there are several local golf courses. For children, the Parc de la Haute Touche, one of the biggest wildlife parks in Europe, is just 5 minutes away, and the Futuroscope Amusement park in Poitiers is well worth a visit . With numerous magnificent Chateaux and gardens within easy reach, it is an ideal base to explore the beautiful Loire Valley.
