Great location, lovely stay.
We loved our stay here. Antonia is a gracious and warm host and we felt welcomed. She was very available and provided useful information. Her apartment is tasteful and will be especially beautiful when the restoration work in the hall is done. The work did not interfere with our time in the apartment and the photos of the apartment are accurate. Amazing location, thank you Antonia!
Amazing property, excellent location, wonderful host!
We absolutely loved this property. Our host, Antonia, was delightful and extremely helpful (restaurant recommendations and reservations, etc.). The property is located steps away from the main tourist attractions, but feels like you're in a quiet neighborhood, with a wonderful bar/coffee shop, bakery, gelato shop (which my kids enjoyed every day we were in Florence), and grocery store just steps away. If we visit Florence again, which we very much hope to do, we will definitely stay at Antonia's property.
Fantastic 1500s building, great location, most charming host
We loved our host and the flat! And the building’s interior courtyard. Get one thing out of the way: there are 70+ ancient stone steps so if you have difficulties with stairs or have lots of luggage, this probably is not your place. We on the other hand were charmed by everything. An internal stairwell restoration on the area in the photo is underway but that is well below the huge apartment and has zero impact on your stay. The flat is very comfortable and well appointed. We were charmed by owner Antonia who lives in the adjacent flat. She is very responsive to anything you might need and gave detailed recommendations for meals and coffee nearby.
Everything is close. We walked there from the train station in an easy 25 minutes with small suitcases in the rain, passing by the Duomo on the way. The Uffizi was a 15 minute walk and Accademia/David was 15 minutes away. Plentiful trattorias nearby and absolutely the best sandwiches on the planet at All’Antico Vinaio on Via dei Neri 5 minutes away.
Perfect location in the heart of Firenze
Palazzo Galli Tassi's comfortable condo with loft was all we needed for a base of operations while spending the week in Firenze. Well stocked little kitchen that enabled us to prepare a few meals in; comfortable dining area and sitting area, and wonderful bed. Just a short walk from the Bargello, Santa Croce and the Duomo; a tad further to the Uffizi. The neighborhood offers restaurants, food stores, gelato, cafes. We walked all over the city from here, across the Arno to Piazzale Michelangelo and across town to the English Cemetery. Antonia keeps maps and brochures handy and the condo is very clean. I would happily stay here again on my next visit.
We moved out on night two, owner failed to mention no lift70 stairs and under construction
This place is a dump the pictures don’t reflect it at all, there was a drug deal going down on the front steps Saturday night and the noise both inside and out was horrific
Antonio told us she would refund our money but failed to do so when we left the keys inside the apartment
She claimed I think that she only had one set
I will definitely contact vrbo when I return to the states
Mr. James arrived at 1.30 am on December 16th, the arrival was scheduled for 10.30 on December 15th, but patiently I waited until the time of arrival. I helped Mr. James bring the suitcases to the third floor. In the announcement it is specified that there is no elevator. The scaffolding that Mr. James has seen has been placed by the Superintendency of the Fine Arts for the restoration of the ceiling of the stairs, the building is a historical building under the tutelage of the Ministry of Fine Arts, it is possible to pass by the stairs quietly. The following night at 3 am I received 5 phone calls from Mr. James in which he was shouting incomprehensible things, I asked to see us the next day to talk. Honestly the tone was altered and the effect of alcohol seemed evident. The next day I tried Mr. James three times without ever finding him. On Sundays I tried to talk but there was nobody. I have also received a blackmail message in which Mr. James required the return of money because there was no elevator, there were too many stairs, there were noises in the street, nothing was fine. I said I was willing to return the sum by raising the nights they had been in the apartment, but Mr. James reiterated that he wanted the money if he would not make a bad review. I called Mr. James by phone and told me that he had left the apartment and the keys were on the table. Unfortunately it was impossible to open the door with the second key, because the lock had been broken. I had to call a locksmith who had to break through the door and change the lock, then I'm waiting for the woodworker to fix the ruined door. I informed Homelidays of each event and I always asked for advice on how to behave.
Great apartment, helpful manager
Antonia, the manager, helped us chose the best restaurants, arranged taxis and advised us on events and destinations. The apartment was great, unique and efficient.
