About Rebecca Pittman
Welcome to Hendersonville! I am a native who grew up in the neighborhood and still live in the neighborhood. I love meeting my guest and making recommendations to meet your needs. I love working with land and selling land! I am a NC licensed realtor although they are inactive at this time. My full time position is working for one of the nations largest utility companies as an Research Specialist. I collect green depression glass (some call it Vaseline glass) and usually have a few pieces in the cabin for my guest to enjoy. I enjoy classic cars and going to car and tractor shows around the area. In spring, summer & fall there is always a car show somewhere close on Friday or Saturday night. I love to cook for my family and also can (preserve) fruit & vegetables.
Rebecca Pittman purchased this Cabin in 2014
Why Rebecca Pittman chose Hendersonville
The cabin and the property around it were previously owned by my mom & dad during the 1970's. For various reasons it was sold several times, the cabin was added on to and took a different direction for the highest and best use. The previous owners set the property up as a vacation rental. When they listed it for sale in the spring of 2014, I realized it was my opportunity to put it back into the family. I am loving having the cabin in close proximity to my house. When it is not being rented I will occasionally go to the cabin with a cup of coffee, build a fire, sit on the sofa in the quiet and enjoy a good book. Total relaxation! I love the cabin and all of it's little quirks and hope that you will too.
What makes this Cabin unique
The cabin is centrally located in an area convenient to Hendersonville and Asheville NC. It is easily accessible to Hwy 25 (less than 1/2 mile) just off of a main road but hidden away in the woods. The authenticity of the cabin gives it a unique feeling and aroma of years past. Although it has additions for more modern facilities, it holds true to the 'cabin in the woods' feeling. This is not a newly constructed log cabin. It is a true 1800's log cabin with additions. Therefore, things are not perfect. The floors may creak and aren't level in places, and there are little quirks but it all gives way to the 'warm & cozy with plenty of room' that makes the cabin unique and authentic. You will get the feel of what it was like to live in a cabin in the 1800's. If you are looking for 'abundantly fancy with frills', this is not it. But, if it is relaxation and comfort with rustic thrown in that is convenient to most everything the area has to offer, I would love to have you as my guest.

Lovely old cabin. A little quirky but so am I. Everything worked and was super comfortable.
Quirky Vintage Charmer
Original log cabin, added on to many times over the years with unexpected twists & turns, step up and step downs. Privacy in all three sleeping areas with comfortable beds. Well stocked with kitchen implements. Enjoyed the small hot tub and fire pit. Surrounded by residential areas. Somewhat dark & not for tall people.
It was great meeting you and your family. Quirky is a good term for the cabin. It was a pleasure meeting you and your family.
The house was a lot bigger than I expected. So much room, everything was warm and cozy especially with the fireplace glowing. The owners were very welcoming and accommodating. Some of our kids were traveling through the area at the time of our stay. The hotel lost their reservations. I asked the owner if they could join us and we were given an "absolutely". Thank you for a great stay.
Thank you so much Ann. You and your family were a pleasure to work with. I hope our paths cross again someday. Hendersonville has a lot to offer and not that far from your home.
Great Cabin--just not in the woods
The cabin was really neat and Rebecca was great and easy to get in touch with. The only down fall was that the cabin is surrounded by houses and not set back off the beaten path like we were hoping. This wasn't a huge problem for us as the weather was not the best for our stay so the location allowed us the option to easily get downtown and drive up to the national parks. All and all it was great stay for our little friend group that allowed us the time to hang out without much distractions.
Cozy and charming cabin
We were looking for a relaxing weekend in and this cabin was everything we wanted! It is rustic, cozy, and has a lot of character. There is a fireplace that we loved sitting by and plenty of room for groups! It is only 30m away from Asheville which was very convenient! We also really enjoyed the hot tub! The only thing to note is that this cabin is not secluded and it doesn’t have good views, it is in a neighborhood. However if you are trying to find a place near Asheville for a great price, enough space, and rustic then this is the perfect place to rent! We had an amazing time and will definitely come back!
Thank you!! I'm glad you had a nice trip. Please do come back sometime. Hendersonville is great in every season. We are still adjusting to a rain season but it will dry up soon, I am certain of it. Thanks again
Wonderful time with the Grandkids!
I was skeptical when I saw the location of the cabin. Neighbors very close by. And because it was February every one of them was visible. Once you step into the cabin you pretty much never think about it again. Such a cool eccentric cabin . the kids came in and immediately loved it (as did their parents). From the loft bedroom to the game room they were amazed. It’s much bigger inside then it looks. Has everything you need for a short stay. Claw foot tubs, fireplace and tin roof (and yes it rained) made this stay extraordinary. Fire pit and hot tub outside. Plenty of firewood too! The owner was super nice and helpful even when I had a senior moment or two. Lol. Close to everything.
You were great. Come back again sometime. I enjoyed you and your family!
Hendersonville has it all! Theaters, restaurants, outdoor events, Beer Capital of the South (Sierra Nevada, Oscar Blues) with many microbreweries, Wineries, trout fishing, biking, all located in the back yard of the Great Smoky Mountains. There is now tubing in the French Broad River and zip lines in Asheville and over a gorge in Green River. But the biggest attraction is Biltmore House and Gardens. George Vanderbilt certainly knew how to live. Stand out on the back deck and imagine owning all the land you can see! Next, the outdoor enthusiast love Dupont State Forest. Its an easy 20-30 minute drive with spectacular waterfalls and hiking trails. The Last of the Mohicans was partially filmed there as well as one of the Hunger Game series. It is truly a treasure. My personal favorite drive is to go one exit up on I 26 to the Airport Exit (also where Sierra Nevada is located) turn left onto Hwy 280 go about 15-20 miles toward Brevard. After you go up the mountain and back down (watch the speed limit) turn to the right onto Hwy 276 at the Pizza Hut. Stop for an ice cream cone at the entrance to the National Forest. This road will take you to Looking Glass Falls, Looking Glass Trail, The Cradle of Forestry (the first forestry school in the country; thank you George Vanderbilt), and the Pink Beds. When you reach the top of the mountain, you can take the scenic route to Waynesville or, my preference is to take a right towards Asheville onto the Blue Ridge Parkway. This is a leisurely drive and a MUST STOP at Pisgah Inn for a meal in their fabulous restaurant overlooking the mountains. After a fabulous (and inexpensive) meal continue to Hwy 191 where you can exit if you prefer. You might enjoy some shopping at the Outlet Mall if you turn to the left, If you turn to the right it will take you along the French Broad River and eventually make the loop back to Hwy 280. Take a couple of hours to enjoy the mountain views. I am a native of Henderson County and will be more than happy to help you plan your itinerary while you are here.
I look forward to working with you.
