Perfect location for the city. Super self-contained apartment.
This really was the ideal apartment from which to see the sights and museums of Madrid. The Metro station is only a 10 minute walk away, and then five stops to the city centre (Sol) by train. It is a quiet neighbourhood, so no disturbance at night, and the garage parking space was invaluable to us as we took the ferry from the UK to Bilbao and drove from there; Madrid is a half day's drive from Bilbao or Santander. The apartment is very well equipped and comfortable. Finally, the owner, Enrique was extremely helpful on arrival, and before. For some reason our car's GPS thought the postcode was in the city centre! Fortunately we had an alternative source for GPS via cell-phone, and this got us there. Enrique was very patient and waited for us as we coped with the traffic and made our way ... from wherever we were! Excellent stay, but you really cannot 'do' Madrid in just three days. The Prado takes a day and the Reina Sofia another half day at least. Allow at least a day for the main sights, and then some for the Thyssen gallery, and others, which we regrettably did not find time for. We might be back!
It was a real pleasure meeting such a nice and friendly couple. 100% recommended. Always welcome back.

A modern, spacious, well equipped and very comfortable apartment with easy access to the city centre
Enrique is a helpful, knowledgeable and welcoming host who speaks excellent English so it was easy to communicate with him and also to arrange a suitable meeting place near his apartment.
The apartment itself is located on the fourth floor of a modern apartment block and set in a pleasant area with a wide selection of local shops, cafes, bars and supermarkets all within a five minutes walk. The park (Parque del Cerro del Tío Pío) near the apartment block is one of the highest in Madrid and gives an excellent panorama of the city and the sunsets.
The apartment was as described on the website. It was very clean and tidy and fully equipped with everything you could need for a short, or even long stay, in Madrid - there was even washing up liquid, spare toilet rolls and a large roll of kitchen paper (things that many hosts tend to overlook). It was very spacious and the furniture and bedding were all very comfortable. We also found that the apartment was very quiet with no noise coming from the residents in adjacent apartments.
Of the many bars from which to choose in the local area we really enjoyed our visit to Cafeteria Restaurante Enrique (in Calle del Puerto Canfranc). Here the pleasant and friendly bar staff served us with three generous glasses of excellent Rioja and free tapas (serrano ham and bread, olives and tortilla) all for a total of 6€ (which we thought was very reasonable).
The nearest Metro is about 10 minutes walk from the apartment (where further restaurants, bars, shops etc. will be found) and the line takes you directly to the city centre (Sol and Gran Via metro stations) via the Puerta de Atocha RENFE station.
Next time we visit Madrid Enrique's apartment will be the first place we shall consider staying at, and in the meantime will pleased to recommend it to friends and family.

Lovely apartment
The apartment was just as presented. It was very nice and our host was very helpful and accommodating. We were very comfortable in the apartment and enjoyed the cafeteria at the base of the apartment building.
We stayed four nights and were very pleased. The apartment is well equipped and very modern.
We liked our neighbourhood. However it is a bit difficult to reach the tourist sites. The metro was broken and we had to use taxis which are not inexpensive. The apartment has an elevator. The local people close by speak only Spanish so I was pleased that I know some.
Location
Any place is nearby from this centrically located apartment. It’s only then a matter of what you like to do. Right in behind of the building you will find the incredible Parque del Tío Pío, one of the highest in Madrid, a pleasant place that makes you forget the rest of the city when you go up for a walk among the multicolor environment. You can later go down to Avenida La Albufera, only at a 5 minute walk for enjoying a “tapa”. The shopping area is also there.you’ll find interesting stores all the way down the Avenue, with very good prices. Metro station: Nueva Numancia. Just behind the building is a large park with a beautiful terrace bar at the top from where you can see all Madrid while sipping an aperitif. From this unique place we can see all the towers that populate the Paseo de la Castellana, or all monumental buildings located on Calle de Bailen (Royal Palace, Almudena Cathedral, and Church of San Francisco El Grande). Also opposite, 5 minutes walk from the apartment, there is a large shopping mall and entertainment, and a large area (ALCAMPO). After less than 3 km, 6 minutes by subway, opens all the leisure Madrid: restaurants, museums El Prado, Reina Sofia, Thissen, and the shopping area of ??Gran Via and Calle Preciados, visits to the Royal Palace , Plaza Mayor, Puerta del Sol ..
