Perfect say for our cycling holiday

The photos and description undersold this fabulous house. It is larger than we expected, with different levels to rooms that meant it took a while to learn our way round. There are two standout bedrooms with lots of space and well equipped bathrooms ensuite, that make you feel quite spoilt. Downstairs there was everything we needed in the kitchen. We enjoyed using the BBQ and spent our evenings eating and sitting outside at the long table. The house is clean and beautifully presented - it's more than a holiday home as there are plenty of pictures and objects to give it a personal touch.We had a problem with the fridge on the first day. With a quick text, Sebastian was with us and measuring up for the new part. He is lovely - he comes to do the pool in the morning (when guests are asleep) and we saw him at Saturday/Tuesday cleans when he comes with the cleaners. Deposit was fully returned with no quibbles, despite the fridge problem. As a mix of keen and irregular cyclists, this house was positioned just right. We drove to Ventoux - some cycled too - and did many more local routes. The totally flat cycle route from Robion (just over the canal) to, eventually, Apt was a boon. It meant everyone could cycle safely as it takes the path of an old rail line. There are plenty of challenging and picturesque routes from here. There are a couple of ok restaurants in Robion, and we liked the bar (turn left from the house towards the old town) where the locals gather after work.

Nearly forgot to mention the pool - large enough to swim properly in. Sebastian put the heating on in the pool when the temperature dipped in the second week, although we didn't really need it.

Robion is a few steps away for bread, basics from the mini supermarket. Larger supermarkets are a short drive.

All in all, a perfect holiday destination for us and we hope very much to return.

We had an outstanding 3 weeks at the Ferme St Roch

We celebrated our birthdays and wedding anniversary over 3 weeks at the farmhouse with family and friends. It was an outstanding time and was enjoyed by guests 9-80! The farmhouse is a beautiful place and was key to our enjoying the village of Robion and the surrounding towns of Provence.

All the farmhouse facilities are wonderful and exactly as shown in the website photos. We spent hours enjoying meals in the outdoor kitchen/dining area. Sebastian Jary, one of the owners, is outstanding and was a great help during our stay and was very patient answering our many questions about life in Provence and Robion. We visited 24 nearby ancient villages surrounding Robion during our stay and also went to larger towns Avignon, Marseille, Nimes and St Remy. Market days in many of these towns was a highlight and adventure for all of us. And several of our group were interested in the wine produced in Provence and they enjoyed several wineries and tastings.

We loved the farmhouse and it made our trip a memorable event for the whole family and our friends. Thanks to Sebastian for making it all possible. We will be back!!

Beautiful traditional farmhouse

The farmhouse has everything you require for a great holiday: lovely bedrooms with excellent and modern bathrooms and lots of room, a farmhouse kitchen with all the equipment you would need, several public rooms which cater for all numbers and moods, excellent outdoor facilities and pool and not least an attentive and helpful host who was there when you needed him but left you to enjoy the holiday.

We particularly liked the inner courtyard for meals and relaxing in the evening and when we wished some shade. The barbecue was well used. It was also a great place for the children to play as it was private and fully enclosed. The outer garden was a lovely sunny area and the pool was clean with sparkling water and lighting for an evening swim.The main lounge was great when we were all together but the games room and the library were always there for quiet moments. Robion has a range of eating places to suit all tastes and a good range of shops. It is also well placed for visiting all the popular tourist and beauty spots in Provence. Last but not least the owner was always ready to provide information and help particularly when we organised a celebration meal in the farmhouse when we had the food provided by a local restaurant. All in all everyone from the youngest to the oldest had a wonderful time and we would certainly recommend St Roch Farmhouse for a great family holiday.

"Ferme St Roch was an idyllic place to spend our 40th anniversary with our family. The historic home is beautiful, with every modern amenity and more! The home is spacious and charming so it was tempting to simply relax there.Ferme St Roch’s location in Robion is the perfect home base to the magical places in Provence. The owner was extremely helpful and accommodating, making our vacation perfect in every way."

"St Roch exceeded our expectations! We rented the house with our family and we all fell in love with the place. We had a very good time in this very comfortable restored “mas”. The rooms are not next to each others and everyone has its own privacy, which was really unexpected as we travelled with the whole family. We fell in love with the house but also with the surroundings. Gordes, Menerbes, l’Isle sur la Sorgue, Avignon. There are so many breathtaking villages to discover in the area and we do understand now, why so many people come and live there. We might start thinking about it if we find a house like this one to buy. Many thanks to Sebastian for his warm welcome and his help throughout our stay."

St Roch is ideally located at the gates of Luberon National Park in the quaint village of Robion, just 20 km away from Avignon ’s historical town and theater festival, 50 km from stylish Aix en Provence, Cezanne’s hometown, and one hour away from Marseille. It is a perfect base for discover ing the stunning medieval villages of the region and some of the famous “postcard” sceneries of Provence . Within a radius of 10 km, you will find l’Isle sur la Sorgue with its antiques market, Gordes and its traditional stone houses, Roussillon with its remarkable earthtones, Fontaine de Vaucluse, Bonnieux, Lacoste, Menerbes and Lourmarin. And since it is entirely acceptable to be a bit lazy when on holiday, you won’t have to walk more than 300m to reach all village shops (bakery, grocery, butcher, pharmacy, 2 restaurants, and the tourist office).
