|Minimum Stay||3 - 7 nights|
The house is an early twentieth century Art Nouveau building recently restored, according to its original style, with care and attention for every detail. It used to belong to Sen. Gismondo Morelli Gualtierotti, Minister of Post in 1904, and it is situated in a peaceful hamlet, surrounded by a large park with centennial trees.
The façade’s Art Nouveau style was very trendy at the time but quite unusual in a rural area such as the Pistoia Apennines.
Behind the Palazzo, the beautiful private grounds lead to the swimming pool area, enriched with contemporary Carrara marble sculptures. This unique location provides endless outdoor opportunities such as walking excursions, mountain bike and horse riding.
At the villa’s ground floor guests will find a modern kitchen and a spacious bright living room with a large glass window over the natural setting. At the upper floors there are six bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms. All the different rooms are furnished with an astonishing combination of original ancient and contemporary design elements. From the first floor, guests will also have access to the rear garden fully equipped with outdoor furniture (tables, chairs, beach beds and umbrellas) and a barbecue overlooking the swimming pool.
In addition to the Villa, for larger groups, a cosy apartment next to the swimming pool is available. It is composed of two double bedrooms, a bathroom and a living room with a kitchen (additional cost of 700 euros per week).
I am the manager of “GMG Holidays”, a small family business operating with its self-catering properties near the town of Pistoia, a few dozen minutes away from other important art cities like Florence, Lucca and Pisa as well as from the beaches of Versilia.
What we aim at offer you is the chance to spend a relaxing holiday in the nature of a green valley set between the town of Pistoia and the Tuscan Apennine Mountains. This is a well known and loved winter holiday destination, famous for the ski slopes of Abetone, but also an enchanting holiday spot between spring and autumn, thanks to its pretty paths and silent ancient forests.
Our properties are charming historic buildings which have been recently renovated and fully equipped to meet the needs of increasingly demanding tourists. In fact, my father and I are both passionate travellers and this helps us to empathize with the potential demands of our guests. We are truly committed to your satisfaction and looking forward to welcoming you to one of our properties! We will do our best to make you feel at home!
Mr. Davide Ferrari purchased this villa in 2008
We were a group of 16 celebrating our 60th birthdays and this house was just perfect for a group that size! Each bedroom was beautiful so everyone was comfortable. The house is well equipped for cooking, relaxing, etc. and the bus stop is a 5 minute walk away down a lovely twisting, turning driveway through the woods. There is a delicious restaurant across from the bus stop that we took advantage of a few times. You can take the bus to any of the surrounding towns but if you take it to Pistoia, you can catch the train to almost anywhere! The pool house is a charming cottage complete with 2 bathrooms, a sauna and full kitchen! Every detail was carefully planned and we found ourselves delightfully surprised as we discovered each nuance that this property has to offer. It is great for hikers as well because there are many trails around the area. To end our stay there the owner arranged for us to have dinner prepared by 2 chefs who did an excellent job. Most of all, we'd like to thank our hosts, Nato and Davide, who went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed and assisted whenever we asked. They made us feel welcome and at home for which we were deeply grateful.
We were a group of 14...cousins & spouses, friends and family.
The villa was wonderful. We cooked and hiked and swam. The hot tube was a bonus. Each bedroom with its own bathroom worked perfectly for everyone.
Davide and his father took care of us. The weather was perfect. The villa didn't include air conditioning which caught us off guard at first, but this location doesn't need it. Keeping the windows open at night made the villa comfortable for the entire day. One evening was so cool we even had a fire in the fireplace...in June!
The road up to the villa was a bit of a challenge. It was dubbed 'bobble-head' road by one of our group because of the bumpy, uneven ride. You definitely need a car to reach the villa.
The internet service was not available for the first few days but we had invested in a mobile hot spot as part of our rental car. It was indispensable. Highly recommend getting one.
The kitchen was well prepared with pots, pans and dishes. We made good use of the clothes washer. We had air-dried clothing for the first time in many years.
Our time at the villa was full of laughter, fun and lots of wine. We lived outside at the communal table and pool. It was an unforgettable time.
The villa was a delightful home for a week. This was an amazing experience.
"We had a fantastic stay in this wonderfull villa."
"At the beginning of June 2011 we spent 5 fabulous days in Villa Morelli. It total we were 16 adults, so the villa was fully occupied. As it contains 5 double rooms and one twin room in villa and two double rooms in additional house, everybody had also space for privacy. Big living room made our evenings very enjoyable then the entire group get together and had a fabulous time for conversation. Extra points are going for WIFI connection. Its location is very perfect for short daily trips to neighbourhood and cities like Florence, Pisa, Lucca etc. The owners, Davide and Nedo are very helpful and friendly and they do everything to make your stay in villa pleasant and enjoyable. I definitely recommend this villa for a people who like to have privacy with high level accommodation on North Tuscany region"

It was a real pleasure to stay in Villa Morelli with our family. It is a luxurious villa with plenty of bathroom facilities, a splendid swimming pool and a well equipped kitchen. The management is very friendly and helpful. In the evenings the woods and the hills surrounding the villa cool down the high summer temperatures of Tuscany. Villa Morelli is highly recommended!
Villa Morelli Gualtierotti is located 17 km North of Pistoia (20 minutes of mainly panoramic road from the highway exit) in a verdant valley, 40 minutes far from beautiful art cities like Florence and Lucca.
Because of its position, at the beginning of the Pistoia's Apennines area, our villa may be an ideal base for tourists interested in visiting the famous art cities of Tuscany as well as for nature lovers, aiming to discover the Apennines' beautiful landscapes in all seasons.
Located at the foot of the mountains, between Florence and Lucca, Pistoia has much to offer in terms of history, monuments, folk traditions, nature and gastronomic specialities.
Although less visited than other cities in Tuscany, Pistoia presents a well-preserved medieval centre with the monumental Cathedral Square, one of the most beautiful in Italy.
Near Pistoia there are several interesting destinations like the Leonardian Museum in the genius' birthplace Vinci, Montecatini and its thermal baths, the medieval villages of the Valdinievole, including Collodi, the town of Pinocchio.
Distance from airports:
Florence: 50km, i.e. 40 minutes drive.
Pisa: 90km, about 1 hour drive.
Bologna: 80km, about 1 hour and 15 minutes by car.
