This spectacular Villa was recently built by local craftsmen in the style of a Typical Andalucian Cortijo with keen attention to detail. Nestled among the foothills of The Sierra Almijara National Park the villa is set amongst Citrus, Olive and Avocado groves with breathtaking views of the mountains and down the Frigiliana valley to the sea & is close to the beautifully conserved, award winning and whitewashed Andalucian village of Frigiliana along a concreted road accessible by all types of vehicles. Villa accommodation consists of two bedrooms - one double and one twin (each with private bathroom) plus living room & kitchen with Air Conditioning/Central heating. The Pool Shower Room has its own bathroom suite & is located adjacent to the Swimming Pool. The busy resort town of Nerja is a short drive away. Our prime location provides an enviable combination of spectacular mountains and Mediterranean beaches. With Air Conditioning and Free internet access.

The Villa is Fully Registered and Licensed by the Andalucian Rural Tourism Authority ( License number RTA/ CR/ MA / 00711 ) which is now a legal requirement for all Rural Property Rentals - Un registered properties run the risk of being Closed Down and Sanctioned by the Tourism Authority Thus Jeapordising the holidays of unsuspecting guests.

However licensed Properties such as Mimosa are Subject to stringent periodic inspections and strict quality controls which ensure that we adhere to and provide the highest standards of Accomodation, Facilities and Service.

Internet Access - The Villa is equipped with free WiFi – However we strongly recommend that if you envisage using our WiFi system for business purposes or any other critical function that you ensure that you have a secondary source in case of any malfunction of the network. We offer WiFi Internet Access as a complimentary “Value Add” service to our guests. However we provide no technical support, nor do we accept any liability, nor will we offer any compensation, for the non functionality of the service for whatever reason.

The accommodation in the villa has been thoughtfully designed to accommodate both families or groups of friends travelling together as such it offers two separate guest suites each with private sleeping / bathing facilities together with shared living room, kitchen and outdoor leisure facilities. This way our guests can enjoy each others company whilst still having some private space to relax in peace if needed.

The villa has two separate guest suites one upstairs and one at ground level leading from the living room. The ground floor guest suite is reached via a short corridor from the living room, it has a twin bedroom, with two single beds with large built in wardrobe and its own private bathroom with walk in shower, WC and washbasin. The upstairs guest suite is reached via a stairway leading off the lounge and via a short corridor, it has a large double bed with large built in wardrobes and its own private bathroom containing bath with shower WC and washbasin.

The pool shower room and toilet is located next to the pool. It has its own private bathroom with WC, Washbasin and a large walk in 'Wet Room ' Shower So that there is no need to go back into the Villa to use the toilet facilities while using the Pool and Sunbathing Terraces, in here is also a washing machine. Additionally outside the Pool Shower Room is a separate outdoor pool shower.

A word from the owners : Villa Mimosa is privately owned by Paul and Christine Winstanley from England and is managed by friends who live locally in Frigiliana and who speak excellent Spanish in case of any problems. This allows us to provide a superior and more personal service to our guests than larger agents can, so any problems can be dealt with quickly. We keep our guests informed of all local Fiestas, Events and Activities with all local magazines and papers. Our local area guide will ensure that you have all the information you need about the Villa and the area and its attractions no matter what kind of holiday you prefer. If all else fails, we are always only a phone call away. We take great pride in the fact that you entrust us with such a precious commodity as your holiday. It is our personal goal to ensure that every possible comfort and amenity is provided during your stay.

The local area : Frigiliana is a charming Andalucian village Known as the “Pearl of Axarquia” whose Moorish architecture dates back 5000 years, nestled into the foothills of the Almijara Mountains at the edge of the Sierra Tejada National Park. The older part is a mass of narrow flower laden cobbled streets winding up the hillside with wonderful views over orchards and the coast to the South and Spectacular views of the National Park North and East across the magnificent Higueron Gorge. With something for everyone Frigiliana is a paradise. For walkers and mountain bikers with enchanting walks and rides for all abilities starting right in the village. For historians and culturalists the Moorish past remains visible today. For the beach lover Nerja is a busy seaside town five minutes drive away, set amidst cliffs overlooking rocky coves with many fine beaches and all the usual facilities of a Mediterranean holiday resort, while retaining the qualities of a typical Spanish small town.

Out and about : Within a short drive are several whitewashed mountain villages each with their own charm and many like Competa and Algaborro are on the famous “Ruta de Vino” (wine route) The awe inspiring Nerja Caves, are a fascinating, network of cathedral like underground caverns with the World's biggest stalactites. Maro, is a picturesque village with panoramic views across the sea and a small secluded beach. A little further along the coast are La Herradura and Almunecar, while further afield is the historic city of Grenada with its famous Alhambra Palace (pre-booking advised). Mijas, Antequara El Torcal National Park, Marbella, Seville, Gibraltar, Ronda, Cordoba, and other famous Costa del Sol resorts are all accessible for day trips.

The rent includes water, gas and electricity, bed linen and towels (except beach towels). Arrival / Departure days are flexible all year round as we understand that mid week flights are much more economical. Arrival time 16.00; departure time no later than 10.00 AM to allow for cleaning and preparation for arrivals. Change of linen and towels is provided for bookings of 14 days or more on the 7th day then weekly. Extra days at pro-rata cost. Discounted rates for long lets, low season. A holding deposit of 15% is required within 3 days of booking. A refundable damage deposit of £100 / €150 Euros is required prior to arrival. Child's high chair and cot can be provided.

Superb house and view + fantastic service

Rental period: 2 weeks in April 2008.

Never tried private rentals outside our home country, but this isn't the last time. Both house and sorroundings was here very well maintained and service provided by our freindly property keepers was extra ordinary. You will not be dissapointed! Even the mail correspondance, contract signing and payment process made us feel very comfortable. All over we experienced high attention from our property keepers if we had any querys or things to be sorted out.

The way to the house is good untill 3 km before - here starts a private road with rough concrete and steep hills. Rent a semi 4x4 (e.g. Nissan Qashqai). The stone path to the house is very beautiful with various plants. The house is very private and view over mountains and sea is amazing. The terraces (3) are well equiped and pool was clean and fresh! House is very spacious (with complete new patio), tasteful equiped and standard is very high all over. We as a young critical family give our best recommandations for a safe and joyful holdiday.

Owner's Response: As the booking agent and customer liason for Villa Mimosa it is a real pleasure to have our work so highly praised by our first Danish guests - who were a married couple in their early thirties with a lovely 9 month old daughter. I would like to add to Thomas's comments re the access that I drive to the villa in a standard Ford Mondeo and that the Majority of out guests rent cars like Ford Focus, Seat Ibiza, Peugot 207 etc and we have never had any guests encounter any access issues.( Borne out by the fact that Thomas recommends the villa for a "Safe" Holiday and is prepared to recomend us to friends and family). So I think that the sugestion of a small 4x4 may be a little of an overkill.

Outstanding villa in a beautiful area

This was probably the best villa we have ever stayed in. The setting is superb and the facilities are excellent. The outdoor kitchen and dining table with barbecue is a terrific resource, and the pool with adjoining poolhouse containing a shower and toilet is great. The villa has air-conditioning in the living area and the upstairs bedroom -- very valuable in the summer heat. The drive down to the villa from the main road is not for the faint-hearted, but perfectly manageable. The managers of the property, Boz and Polly, were unfailingly helpful.

Beautiful villa

We had a fantastic fortnight in this beautiful villa. The weather was hot and the pool very well used. The villa is a real home from home, clean and well equipped with comfortable beds and well appreciated air conditioning. The nearby town of Frigiliana is a delight and the small streets and little squares are worth exploring. Boz was a very helpful contact and we felt well looked after. Highly recommended!

Lovely villa in a quiet countryside location

We had a lovely stay at Villa Mimosa. Plenty of space indoors and outdoors, lovely pool area and outdoor kitchen with wonderful views of the surrounding countryside and the sea. The villa is very tastefully decorated and furnished and very well maintained and has all the facilities to ensure a relaxed and chilled-out holiday! The villa is situated in the peaceful countryside about 10 mins drive out of Frigiliana - a real get away from the crowds location, which suited us perfectly.

What an absolute gem

Have no fear if you decide to rent this villa. Everything you will need (and more) is at hand. We have never stayed in such a well equipped and beautifully furnished villa.

The inside is very modern and extremely comfortable with great air conditioning and all the electrical appliances you would need. The outside is absolutely stunning, with breath taking views all around, masses of different seating areas and a great, very well maintained swimming pool. The added bonus of an outside kitchen/BBQ with all the creature comforts is another reason why you don't really need to go indoors other than to sleep.

Boz and Polly who manage the villa are extremely pleasant to deal with and nothing seems too much trouble. We would have no hesitation in recommending this villa to anyone and would love to return again in the near future

Ein Traumhaus in ruhiger Lage. Die Ausstattung ist geschmackvoll und nahezu perfekt. Man kann sich zwischen mehreren Terrassen entscheiden, der Pool hat eine perfekt Größe und der Außengrill lässt keine Wünsche offen. Gute Matratzen in den Schlafräumen und eine neue Küche, die keine Wünsche offen lässt. Hinzu kommen traumhafte Ausblicke, so dass man das Grundstück eigentlich nicht verlassen möchte. Der Aufenthalt war perfekt vorbereitet und organisiert durch die überaus herzlichen Verwalter. Schon die Anfahrt zu dem Objekt ist spektakulär, ein kleinerer Leihwagen sicherlich empfehlenswert.

The decor is tasteful and almost perfect. You can choose between several terraces, the pool is a perfect size and the outside grill leaves nothing to be desired. Good mattresses in the bedrooms and a new kitchen, which leaves nothing to be desired. In addition, there are fantastic views, so you do not really want to leave the property. The stay was perfectly prepared and organized by the very cordial administrators. Even the access to the villa is spectacular, a rental car certainly recommendable.
